Hi Doc, I am a 26 year old male and have EBV currently. This is very scary to me I felt terrible about one week ago, but it seems like I'm running a fever off and on for the last three weeks. I am also recovering from an eating disorder. I am extremely embarresed by this I know men don't usually have eating problems. It all started in collage when I would get a lot of "fat Matt" jokes and being in a frat this happened all the time. Well I also abused laxitives which I stoped about one month ago, consequently this was about a week before I went to the doctor. The doctor said I was about 6 weeks along in the Ebv progression. I was alarmed because I have hade this darn thing three times in the last four years, what gives. To be honest I'm a wreck but, I think I'm turning it around. I'm writing because I want to know is this a sign of something worse? Should I go see another doctor? As you can see along with the eating disorder I am a major "worry wort"! I guess I tend to worry so much lately because my father is terminally ill with cancer and it seems anytime something goes wrong as of late I feel like I'm going to die too. I know that's absolutely insane ,but it's how I feel never the less. Anyway I got a good therapist to help me with my psychological disorders, and now it's time to address whats wrong with my health. I got "mono" the first time in 92 and since 96 I've gotten EBV three times If anyone has any idea what the hell is wrong please tell me. I just now got my life going in the right direction and now I'm worried to death this is something real bad. Last thing my skin seems real sensitive on my upper back, and chest-kind of like pins and needles. I would like to appologize to everyone that I offended by going on in on in this post! Thank you all for putting up with me. I look forward to hearing from someone.

Dear Matthew,
Your history says that you are a perfect example of someone who needs to take a couple of hours to read everything about EBV in the archives of this BB.
THEN, if you still have questions, write again.
Walt

DR. Stoll, I have read all the posts in the archieves and the only thing I can come up with is I'm stressed out big time. I must say I'm doing it to my self, but do you have any suggestions do I need further medical help or what? I have read this stress reduction deal is it like taking a time out? Also do you have a suggestion on how much a man a tad over six foot tall should weigh? I have a medium frame. Also how much did my lack of nutrition and abuse of laxitives add to my illness? I'm sorry about the continued question would you please answer. Mercy please!

Dear Matthew,
How did you miss the IV vitamin C discussions?
At least you DID catch that chronic readiness in the hypothalamus radically changes the immune reserves that determine whether one gets EBV or not.
If you get started with the SR regularly as described, within a year you will not get this any more. in the meantime I would, personally, do the IV vitamin C.
Let us know how you do.
Walt
