Dr Stoll help with EBV results?

Posted by Matt on February 16, 1999 at 16:19:45:

I have had two tests over three months and it keeps comming back with the same result. One on the antibodies is positive and one is negative. The lab note is " Recent Infection". To me that means past tense. When I first got tested in August it said "current infection" and both antibodies were positive. Am I cured or what? Do both antibodies need to be there for EBV. I can not get any answers from my doc he just says it looks like your getting better and it takes awhile for the antibodies to not show up. I still feel that I am sick if I train to hard it hits me in the form of CFS and I can only workout 1/4 of what I normaly do.

Thanks!!!!!!

Hi Matt,

Please allow me to jump in here until the good doc can get to you.

Firstly, sorry to hear you are not feeling too good. There is a lot of very good information at this BB on the most probable cause for being susceptible to EBV and this "post viral syndrome" or "CFS". It would take the doc hours to re type this info. for your post.

Check it out at the BB archives by clicking on EBV and Chronic Fatigue. Also check out the Articals on health topics and read #16 Leaky Gut Syndrome, #18 Modern Medical Interpretation of Stress and an important part of the solution - #22 Skilled Relaxation. Skilled Relaxation is often referred to as SR on this BB.

If you check out this information you should have a pretty good idea of what is going on with your body and how to get onto the path to wellness. Warning: to get over this "EBV" will probable require some work:0(. I felt lousey for many years with low grade viral infections. I was always proactive in finding a solution. Unfortunately no doctor ever mentioned SR before and the effect of STORED stress on the immune system. I think this BB will be a great tool for you:0)! I wish I had found it earlier.

Best wishes, Sue

Deaer Matt,

Your doc is telling you like it is.

Have him show you the lab manual where it explains, in detail, what the several titers mean. Unless you are willing to becomne a student of this, you should listen to your doc.

Walt
