Touch Sensitivity

Posted by William Gills on September 02, 1998 at 17:12:23:

I was diagnosed with Epstein Barr 1 year ago. I have come along way since then, but am somewhat impatient with the progress. I am beginning to realize that I need a life style change and have started 20 mins of relaxation twice/day, started some vitamin therapy and am watching the simple sugars. Everything seemed to come together on my vacation and I'm not sure if I was just more relaxed or if the therapy was beginning kick in or both.

In the past week though, I feel as though I'm slipping back...trouble concentrating, not sleeping through the night, getting up tired and sluggish. My wife thinks it might be sleep apnea and I plan to enter a clinic to have this tested. I have also noticed a strange sensitivity in my left hand. I seem to becomming intolerant to the feeling of paper. It almost hurts to touch it. I have never had this before and it seems to be coming on the heels of my new vitamin/herbal therapy. I'm wondering if I might be doing something or taking something which is in conflict.
I'd appreciate anyone letting me know if they have had this experince or know of anyone who has. Maybe a look at the laundry list of herbs, vits and food supplements will conjur something up. The list is long, but I am willing to try anything to alleviate the fatigue and bring me back to my former energetic and vibrant self.

Here goes:
Coenzyme Q-10 (50mg)
Candida Enzymes
Echinacea (380mg)
Milk Thistle (200mg/twice/day)
Colloidal Minerals (Once/day)
Proantioxydent (150mg-extracts of grape seed and skin, white pine, etc)
Digestive enzymes with meals
Natural flora maintenance
Esther C (1000mg/twice/day)
Vit E (400IU/twice/day)
Beta Carotene (25K IU/twice/day)
B-50 Complex
Ginko Biloba (50Mg)
MSM (1500 Mgs/twice/day) I have been taking this for over 6months
Oh, yes and Prosymbo Plus which is a amino/herbal acid stack which releases your own HGH (human growth hormone)

Told you it was long.

Your thoughts, experiences and advice are appreciated.

William Gills

All of these vitamins/herbs/food supplements are pure and natural with no additives.

Dear William,

You are to be congratulated for not accepting being a helpless victim of your condition(s).

THEY ARE ALL CAUSED BY THE SAME MECHANISMS!

First, be sure that your skilled relaxation is working by checking with biofeedback (as described so many times in this 'site). Be sure that you are doing it at least 20 minutes twice a day (not counting any done within 2 hours of going to bed).

NEXT, get a copy of the most recent edition of Dr Pelletier's classic: "Mind as Healer, Mind as Slayer". Devour it! It was written about you!

Once you have that information under your belt, write again with more questions.

As you get well, I hope you will share your expereinces with the rest of the BB participants. Your progress will be a wonderful example to others that their situation is NOT so hopeless as they have been led to believe by the bankrupt conventional medical monopoly.

Walt

Dear Dr. Stoll,
Thank you for your words of encouragement. I certainly will share with the group as I see more progress. However, right now I am concerned about this "new" feeling, touch sensitivity. I have never experienced this before and wonder if it is because of my vitamin supplementation. I was assured that nothing in and of itself would cause complicatons, but I would like to know if what I am taking is excessive or is conflicting with some other supplement.

Again my new symptoms are a tactile sensitivity in my left hand. On closer scrutiny I have become sensitive to hot and cold in that hand and I find the feel of paper very objectionable, almost painful to touch. It gives me chills to touch it. The feeling seems to coincide with the only new thing I have introduced to my therapy - vitamin supplementation (approx 4 weeks ago).

Can I continue my vitamin/herbal/food supplement regime and the skilled relaxation and exercise, or is there something I am taking in the current dosages which may be causing this sensation? Here is a list of my vitamin supplemention.

Coenzyme Q-10 (50mg)
Candida Enzymes
Echinacea (380mg)
Milk Thistle (200mg/twice/day)
Colloidal Minerals (Once/day)
Proantioxydent (150mg-extracts of grape seed and skin, white pine, etc)
Digestive enzymes with meals
Natural flora maintenance
Esther C (1000mg/twice/day)
Vit E (400IU/twice/day)
Beta Carotene (25K IU/twice/day)
B-50 Complex
Ginko Biloba (50Mg)
MSM (1500 Mgs/twice/day) I have been taking this for over 6months
Oh, yes and Prosymbo Plus which is a amino/herbal acid stack which releases your own HGH (human growth
hormone)

Should I continue, cut it out or amend it in some way?

Thank you.

William Gills

Dear Wiliam,

This is called hypesthesia and is due to your dysautonomia. It is all part of your overall condition. That is why I recommended the reference I did. You need to see that it is not something else to worry about. You could probably get some relief by seeing a good local Chiropractor. It will go away when you take the load off your hypothalamus.

If you just want to stop these symptoms, self-hypnosis would do the trick. I would not rescommend your getting rid of any specific symptoms without dealing with WHY you have them. It is these symptoms that are driving you toward actually doing something about all this.

Walt
