Fred (of eWater) would say "they work very well indeed!" but for a more technical explanation, you would need some background in Primary Energy fields, morphogenic fields, paramagnatism, and the effects of noble gasses -which collectively fall into the realm of quantum mechanics.

Simply. Hmmm. OK try this on:
You are sitting inside an energy egg. This egg protects the core you. While it protects, it is also subject to wear and tear and especially to electromagnetic energy. This damages the the egg the quickest.
Everything has an energy field similar to your egg. Some of these fields are beneficial to your egg but most are not. Given enough time, these harmful fields will weaken your egg enough so that the "core you" feels the effects of these harmful fields. When that happens you feel physically ill, or have a headache, or feel stressed out, or catch a cold, or in extreme cases acquire a disease.
Some of these harmful energy feild are inherent and ubiquitious like lighting, computers, power transmission lines, and anything powered by electricity. Other sources of harmful energy are stressed out and negative people around you, or directed to you.
Because of the vibrational rate of this energy, independent of its gross (or observable) characteristics, the field itself goes through almost anything, so walls for example won't stop it.
The counter to these fields, as far as you as a entity are concerned is a stronger field or egg. From this simplified view, your egg is like an immune system.
By now you will have realized that your egg transmits as well as recieves. Without getting into the larger implications, it is possible to broadcast the general state of your egg and in doing so, attract that which you braodcast as desiring.
Now then, the eCrystal boosts the strength of your egg in much the same way as an adaptogen which is to say that it boosts those areas that are weak, and weakens those areas that are too strong. Areas that are too strong, like areas that are too weak "sing" at certain harmonic frequencies, and the eCrystal "resonates" at certain octaves.
It si a "balancing act" of sorts. The material of the eCrystal is man-made, and while there is nothing inherently mystical about it, making crystals is exotic enough as it is. In the case of these crystals, if I'm not mistaking, they were made with inert gases as part of the doping solution.
Inert gases have beneficial properties as far as your field is concerned, but that is another more technical discussion and beyond the scope of this post.

Thank you, that was wonderful! So, my last question is if a human were to be conscious enough of their energy field and skilled at relaxation and energy management, could a human/soul produce the same effect as the crystal?

That's a definite maybe.
If you can learn to make the state you are in during SR your normal state of mind and unconsciously manage your energy, then yes, you could probably do the same thing naturally as what the eCrystal does inherently.

I'm not sure how to answer you Mel. It just seems I've always been interested. For me, there has always seemed to be something extra that I've been aware of, but no way to explain it. It started when I was a kid. There were qualities and extra colors to things but I didn't know what it was. Mum and Dad were quick to explain it wasn't there and soon it wasn't,
I forgot about it for a long time, but after I got involved in the wiccan craft, I was again intrigued and interested in energy fields. how and why they react to thought and emotion. In a very syncronistic way one field of study led to another, and I have been involved in studying various aspects of energy and energy fields since my late teens.
