Macular Degeneration & Microcurrent Stimulation

My sister and I were recently diagnosed with age-related macular degeneration and we are looking into alternative treatments. Does anyone have any experience with micro-current stimulation associated with AMD? I have wet AMD, my sister has dry. Any information/input you have would be greatly appreciated. It's almost impossible to make an informed decision when all the information we find seems to contradict each other.

Hi, Laura.

My only experience has been with IV Chelation Therapy and CoQ10 and it has been very positive. However, I have studied microcurrent technology for years now and it makes sense that combining all 3 would be even more effective so long as it is done before the tissue (retina) is not totally dead. There is always a % of retinal cells that are just "sick unto death" that can be brought back and so there ALWAYS will be improvement with this approach.

Let us know how you do.

Walt

Dr Stoll,
Do you think macular degeneration is due to plaque in arteries? If IV chelation is what you recommend for this condition I would assume that is what you are implying. I thought that MD could be caused by lack of nutrients too.

Also what kind of IV chelation do you recommend and would oral EDTA be a good alternative?

Good health to you!

Martin

Hi, Martin.

Macular degeneration (like all chronic conditions) has multifactorial causes. Atherosclerosis is only one proven mechanism and the only one that Chelation is known to reverse. Since no one yet knows ALL of the ways that CT works, who knows?

The CoQ10 works at the molecular level and surely has more effects than antioxident processes.

It is well known that specific nutrients reduce the incidence of MD. Why would they not help reverse it if used before the retinal cells are actually dead?

Oral chelation, in my experience, takes many years to have an effect. Even IV chelation does not have a discernable effect until at least 10 treatments snd not the full effect until a year after a full course of 30.

Hope this helps.

Walt
