A Swedish study links mobile phones to brain damage in rats The safety of cellphones has been called into question, again.This time the scientific community is paying very close attention.
Last summer neurosurgeon Leif Salford and colleagues at Lund U. in Sweden published data showing for the first time an unambiguous link between microwave radiation emitted by GSM mobile phones (the most common type worldwide) and brain damage in rats. If Salford's results are confirmed by follow-up studies in the works at research facilities worldwide, including one run by the U.S. Air Force, the data could have serious implications for the one billion?plus people glued to their cellphones. -E. Does anyone know whether the microwave radiation from cell phones is emitted when the cell phone is not being used, that is, when there is no call being made?

Yes, Sappphire, IF it is on awaiting a call.
There are inexpensive instruments (Radio Shack, etc.) that will measure these fields for you. I was amazed to find that the machine in my home that had the most intense field was the automatic video tape rewinder---WHEN IT WAS OFF BUT STILL PLUGGED IN.

Walt,
the isreali's showed that cell phones CONCLUSIVLEY microwave the brain and cause all sorts of disease response. this was more than 10 years ago with a study that at the time was over 10 years.
this is a no brainer. clearly "we" are killing ourselves more and more rapidly as we get more and more technology. it is a funny phenomonon with humans this absolute drive to suicide. and the ones "most" responsible with the most $$ dont give a sh*t about their families friends or anyone just the green back....
sad.

ABSOLUTELY... how else, if it is not constantly emitting microwaves to search for both signal and calls, would it operate?
