Get on his list. Archive in energy healing.

Posted by Walt Stoll [9.8] on April 02, 2004 at 06:11:20:

Friends,

I have no financial connections to Dr Joy. However, my personal experience with his courses has been exemplary. See the energy healing archives and consider getting on his email list to learn when there will be a conference close to where you live.

I would appreciate anyone actually reading his book or attending one of his training sessions, to share their experiences with the BB.

Walt

Brugh Joy's
Asian/Australian Conferences

Hong Kong, China, Healing into Wholeness, June 4 - 6
Macau, China, Deepening into Wholeness, June 7 - 13
Margaret River, Australia, June 24 - 27
Sydney/Byron Bay, Australia, July 2 - 9

Brugh Joy, a teacher of Heart Centered Transformation and Spiritual enlightenment for almost 30 years, conducts courses that promote self-discovery, including healing techniques that use energy transferred through the hands, and an awareness of body energy fields. He brings insight into our unconscious side through understanding dreams and projections, exploring intuitional states of consciousness, ritual, collective energy dynamics, and the experience of high intensity sound.
Brugh has a B.A. and medical degree from the University of Southern California, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He trained in medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland and completed his internal medicine training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
He practiced as a physician in Los Angeles until his life was completely changed by the events described in his bestselling book Joy's Way: A Map for the Transformational Journey. Brugh reveals his later, deeper encounters with spiritual forces in a second book, Avalanche: Heretical Reflections on the Dark and the Light. These books are the basis of his current training.

Thanks Walt! Although I would not be able to get to one of his courses unfortunately, at least I could get his book(s) which I will order immediately.

This type of thing fascinates me. I wonder if he would come to England if I asked him.

Love
Maz

JOY'S WAY = NO JOY!

posted by Greg on September 20, 1998 at 22:45:42:

Walt,

I ordered the book, and now I'm sorry I did. I can't seem
to relate to Joy's journey at all. He seems extremely egotistical,
by turn's holier-than-thou with lots of "see what I accomplished
with my superior medical training"
along with an
unrelenting dismissal of every divinational or psychic
development tool in the past 3000 years. If it doesn't
fit his profile of "how it works," instantly the user is
seeing things through the "eyes of outer reality."

His whitewashing of his teenage years was especially
tiresome. I expected to garner information about what
made him tick, and how enlightenment (if that's the
correct word in his case) had changed his life, and
what he had wrought from it, and instead the narrative
is filled with numerous references to the Sky Hi ranch
and how many people he has helped become "enlightened"
also. The only truthful thing he admits to is "still
having control issues to work out."

I'm sorry Walt, but I just don't see much evidence of
enlightenment. He uniformly disparages psychic development
for its own sake, and sets up a path to so-called
enlightement that anyone but he would be hard pressed
to follow or emulate.

This "great gift" from Eunice Hurt seems to have gone to
waste. Joy's physical deformatities seem to extend to his
psyche as well. He seems less a mystic and frankly, I think
it would have been better for all concerned if he had
stayed in the conventional medical field.

Thanks, Greg.

Just goes to show ya! Everyone is different. I was more interested in seeing the results his approach could produce in professional "seekers" than in his personal qualities.

I personally observed his ego and his "my way is the only way" attitude up close. SO, I do not disagree with your assessment. He has brought some of those along with him to where he is in his journey today (more than 20 years later). However, there is no denying that "Joy's Way" does work for many people.

I would never say that ANY "way" was the only "way". I take what is valuable from ANY effective "way" and try to fit it into any other "way" to see a greater truth. Too many people fall into the trap of thinking that the "way" they have discovered is "the way" when it is only a little piece of the WAY.

Once again, I would hope what no one would "throw out the baby with the bathwater". There is no doubt that Joy's Way works and is relatively easy for anyone to learn.

Namaste` Walt

Guru Fever Or The Joy Of Megalomania

in reply to: Re: JOY'S WAY = NO JOY! (for Greg) posted by Walt Stoll on September 21, 1998 at 10:56:49:

There must be a revised edition of this, because I read "Joy's Way" 10+ years ago and do not
recognize certain elements of which Greg speaks. For example, in the edition that I read he advocates the traditional divinational arts. The
book turned me on to a number of good
ideas. That was 10 years ago when I was
quite new to this stuff.

His second book "Avalanche" did raise some concerns. I applauded his attempts to come to terms with his shadow side, as well as that of "the New-Age Movement". I cheered as he
describes a scathing polemic he addressed to the Findhorn Community. However, much of the book seems rambling and an exercise in what the Italians call "masturbazione intelletuale". The egocentrism to which Greg refers is in
bold relief. It left me wondering if he had not opened the middle eye too quickly through the
use of LSD....indeed, he seemed to have caught a nice little case of megalomania.

I've met Dr. Joy long ago and read his book and i've only heard wonderful things about his workshops over the years, although i have not gone to any with him;
I did go to the same Sky High Ranch one weekend when i was 27 and it was to be with Richard Moss, he was a instrumental in my life and i've seen him since for other workshops;
I guess Richard and Joy were friends and both doctors that work similar; His books are; How Shall I Live and the The Black Butterfly [by Richard Moss]and i think he has others out now or at least one more [I'd like to know about];

Walt was right these guys were some of the fore runners for change in medicine as Walt was, but in a different way;

Walt

Is Dr Joy the same one that you first experienced those powerful healings on patients with? Remember our conversation a while ago about that?
Ithink they were spontaneous healings?

hmmm, the pricing's a bit curious - The Byron Bay session is in a cheap regional area where overheads and wages are very low, yet the charge of $3,300 is astronomical by local standards. When a workshop is sited in a coastal village described as 'spiritually evolved' as its main positive, while I appreciate that motivated people will invest money in worthwhile workshops, this is sounding cash profit driven rather than spiritual...Byron Bay is part of a wide network where dollar incomes are low and environmental values held high. Locals, who are very involved in healing and health, will be cut right out of these workshops and the participants will all be jetting in...from Sydney as it says...this isn't what many would like to see as a harbinger of the future for health and healing.

Thanks, Jane.

Cheap at 3 times the price! However, you can learn the basics just by having your local lending library find you a copy of his first book. Zero cost to you.

Let us know what you learn.
