Kundalini disturbances

Posted by Happygal [2070.23] on March 13, 2005 at 22:14:11:

Hi,

There has been some discussion on the board recently about kundalini problems. It turns out that we have a yoga therapist here in Boulder who specializes in them. His name is Ravi Dykema and his website is www.kundaliniproblems.com. I did not look at his website before posting this, but he has a good reputation here in Boulder. In a recent ad he writes, "I have worked with hundreds of people with all kinds of issues. One of my areas of specialty is treating disruptive energy problems, sometimes called disruptive kundalini arousal. I would be happy to speak with you about whether yoga therapy could help you."

I thought this might be of interest to those who participated in the discussion about kundalini.

Best wishes,
Jan

Hi Happy -
I loved his site and think he can for sure help many people; but a true yoga therapist must have training and certification AS a yoga therapist and deals less with energy than they do phyiscal issues (usually)...

I am in no way discounting his talents and the fact that as a yoga instructor/energy healer he is VERY accomplished - but a true yoga therapist is one who recieves training in yoga therapy for the body. Working more on dysfunction and pain management rather than energy work.

I am only basing this upon his speaking of yoga "energy" and the lack of display of a yoga therapists certification in the US (which is needed; under the yoga alliance, you can not call your self a yoga therapist unless you recieve this training - and the yoga alliance is the only national board for yoga instructors; it is not a national licensure yet)

Here is support of which

Hi - didn't want to be a nudge so I wanted to show a little "not michele" documentation...

He IS a fantastic seeming healer; I don't want to discount that.

Hi Michele,

I'm surprised he didn't put that on his website. It was in his advertisement about how he works with physical issues and chronic illnesses in addition to the spiritual side of yoga.

Best wishes,
Jan
