MRI (without contrast) had strange reaction to test has anyone ever heard of this or is it just a coincidence?

Dear Walt and Others,
I have read a lot of things on this BB over the past few years, I looked in the archives, but found nothing. Here is my question: 2 weeks ago I had an MRI without contrast (without the iv injection) During the 17 min test, I was very relaxed, though I noticed a warming sensation in back of my head. I had a migraine for almost a week straight after the test. I was wearing earplugs the entire time, and was very relaxed, I was just about to fall asleep when they pulled me out of the machine. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this? I have not experienced a headache of this length or nature in my life, nothing would allieviate it, though on the 5th day I got a few hours of partial relief from a vicodin, after that the next 2-3 days were just a headache, literally. Today is the 1st day I have been migraine free. My MRI results came back normal, I have no metal objects in my head. Anyone knowing anything about MRI's please respond.~~~~~~~Thank you, Celena

Did you go off caffeine at the same time?

I had a migraine-like headache for a week when I detoxed off coffee--it was miserable. Just thinking that maybe yours was unrelated to the MRI. I had a head MRI last year, no problem. Wouldn't the MRI staff be able to tell you if this was a possible side effect?

Hi Celena,
My guess is that you also react negatively to , the VDU, electric blanket and perhaps some other electrical appliances.
I have no explanation, but tomorrow or the next day I expect to commence "radiation nosode" a desensitising remedy distributed by METAGENICS, only available through smarter practioners.

Hi, Celena.

Listen to Linda & to Gene.

This is a very unusual response to an MRI but it IS known.

Much is just now being learned about the effect of magnetic fields on susceptible individuals. Much more will be known in the future.

Right now the ignorance about these (invisible) effects is like Madame Curie's ignorance (more than 100 years ago) about the invisible xrays that killed her.

One would think we were beyond that in the 21st century (sigh)!

Walt
