Some Thoughts on Exercise
My grandmother started walking five miles a day when she was 60. She's 97 now & we don't know where she is!
I joined a health club last year, spent about 400 bucks. Haven't lost a pound. Apparently you have to show up.
I have to exercise in the morning before my brain figures out what I'm doing.
I don't exercise at all. If God meant us to touch our toes, he would have put them further up our body.
I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.
I have flabby thighs, but fortunately my stomach covers them.
The advantage of exercising every day is that you die healthier.
If you are going to try cross-country skiing, start with a small country.
I don't jog. It makes the ice jump right out of my glass.

Hi, Attitude Czar
Reference to exercise or NOT? Though I'm one of the BIGGEST
offenders of why I can't get to the gym, I know it's necessary to exercise. My Doctor tells me I'm the QUEEN of excuses for NOT exercising.
I had been dieting for years and would lose weight only to regain it Plus more. Got to a point I couldn't walk more than 10 FEET without huffing and puffing! A few years ago my New Years resolution was to lose weight and get healthy. That's about the time I met my present Doctor who put me onto a diet, told me I NEEDED to exercise, not HAD to exercise. I'd drive to a walk path in the morning and/or evening and attempt to walk the half mile up and half mile back! It took me 3 - 4 weeks to walk the entire half mile one morning, at which time I was now committed to walking the remainder half mile back to my car. (my car refused to come to me) After that I worked up to walking 2 - 3 miles daily and lost a ton of weight until a car accident derailed my walking. Then I rejoined the gym in order to work on my muscles in attempt to lose weight. I lost weight, but gained muscle weight and looked like I'd lost another ton of weight. (scale didn't indicate)
If I had LISTENED to my Doctor before the accident, I might have been in better shape at time of accident and not been as injured to the point of requiring hip replacement almost 3 years later.
Exerciisng doesn't mean you have to go to the gym daily as there are many exercises which can be done at home and/or office in a few minutes. Walking is ONE of the best things to do in order to help lose weight. Park your car at the last parking spot instead of the closest.
I've been to the gym periodically where I do cardiovascular exercises such as the treadmill, bicycle and pool exercises.
Recently renewed my membership at the gym in order to continue my New Years Resolution to becoming as Healthy As I Can! Due to knee injury not walking, but I'll be in that pool for over an hour exercising. The amount of stress reductiion is unbelieveable!
Sorry for rambling, but this is a sore subject which actually PUSHED MY BUTTON.
