My 12yr old son's eyes are both constantly bloodshot. He says they don't hurt, but they really look bad. I can hardly see the whites of the eyes. He is ADHD and on Ritalin and also Remeron, could they be causin this? People always comment on how bad they look, for they never clear up at all.

Hi, Deb.
IF they are not itchy, this is a generalized congestive problem (The capillaries are just as congested in every other part of his body, you just cannot see it.)
It is no wonder he has so many problems, he feels terrible all the time!
The very first thing he needs to do is a perfect whole foods diet. Do not even think of doing it without Beth's Book. Within 2 weeks his behavior will take a sudden change for the better and you may even see his eyes starting to clear up.
At 12 your main problem will be to keep him from cheating on the diet since he will be in withdrawal (feel worse) for at least the first 3 days. If you cannot assure that he will obey, his situation is hopeless.
Once he is well, get the docs to ween him off the pills and keep up the PWFD for at least a year. THEN, if he stops it he may still relapse but at least both of you will know what resolved it and he has to choose whether it is worth doing for how good it makes him feel.
Let us know how you both do.
Walt
