Glaucoma

Hello to all. I am new to this message board. I am looking for information on alternative methods to lower pressure in the eyes. I have heard that bilberry, lutein and vitamin c have been sucessfully used to lower eye pressure. Has anyone had experience using these supplements or others and if so, how has it worked for you? This appears to be a good bulletin board.

Do a search on this site, and you'll find several posts on this subject (linked below).

Basically it's treated the same as athersclerosis I believe. ...

Perhaps you might find some resources through this web site as well; it can be very difficult to find natural treatments in opthamology.

Hi, Wayne.

Welcome to the BB.

Send this note to a friend of mine who has had successful, personal experience with this for years using topical caster oil drops in the affected eye. No side effects and pretty cheap.

Contact ladydi19@juno.com and let us know what you learn and how you do.

Walt

Hi Wayne,

I'm really interested in what she says and how it works for you. Glaucoma runs in my family and I might have to face it some day. Please be sure to post that information!

Thanks,
Happygal

HappyGal;

I emailed the lady Dr. Stoll suggested. I've copied and pasted her reply below: I've given this information to my Sister in Fort Worth and she is going to try it. I'll post info about her progress as I get it. I hope and pray it works for her. I like Dr. Stoll's bulletin board but I find some of the subjects people post about and the way they express themselves revolting. But, the world is full of all kinds of people and all should have freedom of expression; even if I don't like it. I guess I'm kinda preaching huh?

Mrs. LaRoe's reply email is as follows:

"My husband had glaucoma and used cold pressed castor oil, one drop a day in each eye. It reduced the pressure dramatically. It is safe and no side effects. You can purchase it in any health food store. It has an eye dropper built in the top so you never have to open the bottle to contamination. It's about 4 ounces and costs about $4.00. The supply lasts for months.

Dear H,

Thanks for the info. I went to Homeopathic Eye on the internet. I like the web site. I've saved it in my favorites.

Thanks, Wayne.

I would be interested in hearing of others' experiences with this safe, inexpensive and effective alternative.
