eye problems

My left eye has been reddish for about 2 months. And now for about 2 weeks, the eyelid has been twitching quite a bit. This is so frightening since I don't like anyone or anything near my eyes! What could be the cause of this? Should I see a M.D. or a Optomologist? Thank you! LORI

Hi, Lori.

The ONLY thing that causes the involuntary "twitching" of the eyelid you mention is stress-effect storage in the hypothalamus. The only solution I know of is the regular practice of SR.

So far as the redness is concerned, a lot depends upon your age. If you are over 40, glaucoma is a significant risk and you really need to see an ophthalmologist soon.

If both eyes were involved, I would not be so concerned but one eye, for that long, is a valid concern and I would see the ophthalmologist no matter what your age.

Let us know what you learn.

Walt

Hi Lori (and Dr. Stoll who I hope will read this)

After you have been checked by an ophthalmologist, I would recommend you get the following book which has just been published:

"The Eye Care Revolution - Prevent and Reverse Common Vision Problems" by Robert Abel, Jr., MD. (He is a practicing ophthalmologist with some 30 years experience.)The book's cover says: "Combines the best of alternative and conventional methods to treat: Cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye, macular degeneration, diabetes-related vision loss."

I heard Dr. Abel on a health talk show a month ago and listening to him reminded me of Dr. Stoll. He is aware of the limitations of conventional treatments and has had excellent results in combining conventional with alternative means (whole foods, vitamins, minerals, etc. including meditation). I am half way through the book and he has a knack for making the complicated very simple. It's easy to read and has a wealth of information with instructions and actual case histories. You'll find everything there is related to eyes and eye problems in this book - with recommendation on what to do.

Have your library get it for you if you can't afford it ($16 paperback, cheaper over internet but then you have to add shipping). But, ultimately, I think you'll want to own a copy of this as a valuable reference book now and in the future.

All the best. Let us all know how it goes.

Thanks, Rosemarie.

I was unaware of this book.

Does this book give any info about how to reduce or eliminate floaters?

Hi Ann!

This book covers everything from prevention to various treatments of disorders and diseases of the eyes. Dr. Abel discribes in great detail what the disorder/disease is and how to treat/prevent it. And he gives you both conventional and alternative options. Very easy to read and understand!

BTW I don't get a royalty for selling this book (for those of you who are always suspicious!) Let your library get it for you, if you like.

All the best
Rosemarie
