Hi, Walt
Several weeks ago I had a scare as to whether or not I had macular degeneration. This just about devastated me and then later was very relieved to be determined I did not have macular degeneration.
Since my mother has had eye examinations much more frequently than I, was very shocked to learn of her being diagnosed with macular degeneration. Still surfing the net for other alternative treatments. You told me one prior, however, I saved it and can't figure oout where I saved the information.
Surfed the net in order to get a better understanding of this condition and decided to post one of the links. This is in order to share with the rest of the BB participants so we all can learn from this unfortunate diagnosis.

Thanks for the link, Paulette. Gives a good explanation. (I don't have macular degeneration nor is it in my family, but have heard a lot about it.)
Did you notice that all of it comes back to the wellness program advocated by Dr. Stoll. Unfortunately most of us don't start wellness until there is trouble.
I would like to comment on the paragraph that says first "At present there is no cure for this." But then goes on to say that "For an individual with macular degeneration, it is highly recommended that a regular schedule of eye examinations be maintained. During these examinations, detailed documention is made through photographs and fluorescein angiography (injecting a fluid -possible side effects - my concerns!)scans of the health of the retina. With this information, your eye doctor is better able to monitor the condition and note any changes that may occur."
While reading this I thought, they just stated there is no cure. But they want to do all sorts of tests - even inject a fluid - in an on-going basis so they can "monitor" the progress. This constant testing only raises the anxiety level of the individual and, I guess, gives a steady income to the doctor. The patient, it seems to me would know if things are getting better or worse. I mean we need the initial diagnosis and an occasional follow-up. But I really worry about injecting chemicals just for the purpose of "monitoring" the progression when there is no treatment option other than good diet.
Any thoughts on this...Dr. Stoll.. anybody?

Paulette, Dr Stoll recommends chelation as a treatment for macular degeneration.

Hi, Rosemarie.
Your note reminded me of a couple of quotes I have in my book:
"Never utter these words: 'I do not know this, therefore it is false. One must study to know: Know to understand: Understand to judge.' " APOTHEGM OF NARADA
"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." ---Hamlet (Shakespeare)
Just because the closed minded conventional physicians can only do tests, while they wait for it to get worse, is no reason for one to go blind rather than investigating the present succesful management of the "hopeless condition"!
I, too, used to think there was no treatment for macular degeneration until I began to see the results of chelation and wellness.
