Hi! I have eye floaters, those irrtating threads of protien build up in your vision. I looked Dr. Stoll's Glossary and was suprised to find out they can be flushed out.
What a relief!
*****Can you recommend a doctor that does the procedure, and what the procedure is called if possible?
I live in New York State and I do have a opthmalogist. I asked him if they can be flushed out, but he said no. Was he lying to make me leave or is just something that's rarely addressed?

Hi, "DID".
When I was in medical school (40 years ago) I assisted in surgery to do this. SO,your doc knows that it can be done.
However, having said that, if it were me, I would just enjoy the floaters rather than risk the surgery. Nothing bad can happen to you from floaters but you could conceivably have a complication from entering the inside of your eye surgically that would lose you the sight in that eye.
The procedure used 40 years ago was just entering the anterior chamber with a large-bore needle and irrigating water in and out until the flecks had all been removed. They tended to recurr but they would be gone for years. Prevention is "wellness".
Your doc could have explained this to you rather than just saving himself time by saying what he did.
