Lowering eye pressure

Went to eye doctor and my pressure was 17/20 - I know that's not bad and it's in the range, but I wanted to try and get it lower, especially the 20. I eat tons of superfoods and am vegetarian (eat yogurt and salmon). I take my antioxidants and numerous different superfood powders like Boku, Amazing Grass, and Ola Loa. Any great eye supplements I should add (like lutein?) - any good brands? thanks, maryann

maryann,

Consider a couple of drops of
cold pressed caster oil in each eye twice a day. Get your pressure rechecked in a month or so. It can do no harm and every person I have even heard of trying it has brought their eye pressures down dramatically.

Let us know what you learn.

Walt

Bill, would you consider archiving this post by Dr. Stoll? Thanks.

Please advise - I read this about castor oil in the eyes and I want to get my pressure below 20.

Medicinal Warnings and Technical Tips
A. Never consume Castor oil during pregnancy (3F).
B. Avoid contact with eyes (3G). Pure cold pressed Castor seed oil is potent (unlike its diluted imitations) and can be an eye irritant similar to pepper spray.
Note: Pure cold pressed Castor seed oil is really tasteless and odorless. When additives are added to pure cold pressed Castor oil, the oil becomes adulterated, so the taste and smell can change according to the additives.

Hi Maryann,

This is interesting. Thank you for posting it.

I tried the castor oil drops for a few weeks and was really turned off by the greasy eyeball feeling. I always used it before bed and tried to wipe up all the excess that dripped out, but my eyes were just filmy and swirly with oil 24/7 and the oil slick affected my vision.

I haven't had my pressures checked in quite a while, so I don't know if the castor oil drops did any good or not. I think I'm due for an eye doctor visit this year, so I'll find out where I stand. I think my pressure is elevated because of systemic inflammation, but I don't know why it would only be one eye. My eye doctor said having one eye higher than the other is not very good. Don't recall what they are now, but I have it written somewhere.

There are a number of eye vitamin compounds out there, both in national brands and in health food store brands. When I'm unsure what to take, I sometimes rotate 2-3 different brands so I get a variety of nutrients. Taking something is wise, especially if you have a family of age-related eye diseases. The AREDS study has a new report out, I think. Maybe they covered glaucoma as well as macular degeneration.
