Troubles with contacts

I am able to wear my contacts for two days and up to 6 hours with no problems, but when I wake on the third day my right eye is red, puffy and itchy. I have seen the eye dr and he says I have dry eyes and allergies. When my contacts are in I use the rewetting drops every hour even if my eyes do not feel dry. When my contacts are out I use "preservative free" eye drops as directed by the doctor. I am wondering if there is a allergy medicine that might help with this problem? Are there any other solutions that you can suggest. When I am able to wear my contacts I love them. They are very comfortable and I have no problems until the 3rd day. I am using the Renew "No Rub" Solution. My contacts are Cooper Torics. I hope this information helps.

Update on my eye problem. The right eye upper lid is still red, puffy and itchy. The eye itself is fine and looks normal. The left eye is fine which makes me wonder if there could be a blocked tear duct, upper or lower, with the right eye. I have been taking allergy meds since this problem came up and they have not helped at all. I have no allergy symptoms, so I have stopped taking the meds as I know you should not take antihistamines when you have "dry eyes." Any suggestions?

Hi, Melissa.

Remember that suppressing your symptoms does nothing about the cause. First, get rid of your allergies--simple enough to do by starting with the archives about allergy, LGS and SR.

In the meantime, you might try Dr Christofer's "Eye Bright".

Any healthfood store should have it.

Let us know what you learn and how you do.
