Dr. Stoll Fibrocystic Breast Question

Dr. Stoll,

I've searched and read all that I could find in the archives on Fibrocystic Breast. You have stated to eliminate all forms of caffine, SR x2 (which I'm doing again, as I was doing it only once.) and also take Lugols Iodine. I could not find the dosage anywhere. I'm willing to do this but also know that Iodine can be toxic, if you would be so kind as to let me know what the dosage is for a woman of 118 pounds/age 55 and for how long, I would greatly appreciate it.

Just by doing the SR 2x daily and eliminating the caffine, also massaging the breast, I've notice a reduction in the discharge already. I've still followed the whole foods diet for last 6 years. I just would have the coffee in the am. I still have not heard back on the TSH panel that the clinic collected.

But, I'm feeling that you and Opti77 were correct in your guidance to me. Not worried about galactorrhea at this point. Thank you so much!

The dosage of Lugol's for this varies from person to person, It is best to be monitored by a knowledgeable physician. The average is 8-10 drops, in a glass of water once a day to start and seeing what results you have in about 3 months. If results are good and noticeable, you might cut the dosage by 25% and see how things are going in 3 more months, etc. If there are no positive results in the first 3 months, you might increase the dosage about 50% and see how things are going in another 3 months.

Remember that the slightest trace of caffeine, even decaff, will seriously inhibit what you are trying to do at this point. Once the problem is gone you might try small doses and watch for recurrance.
