I resently had a mammogram, well they called me back. They said on my left breast ,one side was denser than the other side. I have never been called back from my mammogram. Im 42 yrs old and 1 1\2 yrs ago I had a hysterectomy (total).
Im taking estratest dark green. Can estratest change your breast tissue? Also I have no sex drive since my hysterectomy. Is that due to hormones? I have breast cancer in my family. Kim

Hi, Kim.

Sounds like thay are not concerned about cancer and that this is early fibrocystic disease of the breast. Since most docs think there is nothing one can DO about this condition they frequently do not tell the patient what it is. They seem to think they can just leave you hanging and you will not worry about it.

Since there IS a lot you can do about it I would suggest you go to the archives and get rid of it. My book also has a section about this very thing along with the references to prove it not only harmless but 95% effective in a very few months.

Let us kwow how you do. In the meantime, GET COPIES OF YOUR MEDICAL RECORDS IN YOUR HOME FILES! Then, you can just read the report.

Walt

I am so sorry they did not explan anyting. I am a mammographer and alot of times women are called back for extra pictures just to see an area better, alot of time, the second picture helps spread out a smaller area allowing the doctor to see better and sometimes they place your breat on an extra object to magnify it to help them see better. The compression pad presses against the entire breast, with equal compression. But with the spot films, extra pictures, they can use more pressure in a focused region to see the area alot better.

And alot of women have to make the choice for themselves if they want to be on hormones or not, but yes hormones do affect the breast tissue in most people. So people when they are on hormones get very tender. Alot of people have cyst in there breast which are normal which make them sensitive.

You are doing the right thing by attending your mammo appointments and I hope they did not scare you off. Sometimes if they make you this nervious, you should ask them if the doctor could explan. I know my radiologist alway goes into a room after I have done spot films just to ease the ladies mine.
