Nutritional supplements for fibromyalgia

Dear Dr. Stoll: I have had fibromyalgia/CFIDS for five years now and have finally reached the point where working full-time and even part-time is virtually impossible unless I can take frequent 20-minute rest periods every hour. I have found a marvelous product that has helped keep me working for five years in a full-time and part-time job. It is my salvation and until recently has taken away all my pain. It is an antioxidant in powder form and I can't live without it. What is your opinion and do you need further information to assess? Thanks
Margie

what is the item that helps you ??

I have had luck with zinc, niacin, a multivitamin, and
one brand of MSM. My FM came from a chemical exposure and I
think that the damage made these things needed individually
because I either stoped absorbing them from food because of
the injury or I need larger doses. What has been
interesting with the zinc was that I needed to take it
soon before I did something that brought on my FM to avoid
or delay the onset or after so it seemed like the zinc
didn't stay in circulation or maybe got broken down and
didn't let it do what it did. The MSM had helped a great
deal and made the zinc not needed or even seem to do much.
What it Still does is make me Not feel the cold if I take
it shortly before going out in it so there again it is
needed soon before and must still be working on something. I
think it helps-ed my circulation.

I think FM can be from different problems and if you find
something that helps then it must be helping or changing
something that went wrong.

Thanks, Margie.

I have yet to see anything that one can TAKE that will permanently work for this condition. The permanent solution is something you DO.

Please detail what you are taking and I will archive it for additional options.

Besides, eliminating bracing is more effective, sooner, done WITH these temporary "solutions".

Walt, how different would you consider bracing to extreme
physical activity. I can lift weights, as heavy as I can
manage but my muscles still hurt when I try to move an
immovable thing like a seized bolt with a wrench or pulling
apart mats on my hands that makes my finger tips tender. I
think at least in my case the pains come from blood cell
damage causing a circulation problem and why something like
zinc that is needed in the red cell membranes worked and
them MSM solved all but the problem with the most extreme
activity. The MSM was only needed a few times to eliminate
most of the problem-s. Lifting a weight I can hardly budge
must be different than pushing or pulling on a wrench that
will not move but I don't understand that yet.

Hi, Vince.

Only the accumulation of lactic acid is similar.

Chronic bracing is really a totally different physiologic process.
