To Interested Readers:
A few years back I was "coached" to wellness by Dr.
Stoll. I am known far and wide for what I was able to do
to regain good health after being HIT with FMS very
abruptly, losing 20 pounds and falling apart in what
seemed like every organ system. Through his
guidance, I regained what had been lost and much
more. I have given presentations on stress
management, commonsense health practices, the
perfect American diet, and other related topics, all
because he taught me how to dig for answers.
Though I have been balanced for a few years now, I am
still contacted by people suffering with FMS who don't
know where to turn. Here is a copy of what I emailed to
someone today. Just thought it might be of help to
someone.
Wish I had more time to hang out at this website as I
did a few years bck. I never thought I'd get over the
need to have the support I once received from Dr. Stoll
and all those who post here, but my life has improved
so much that I am not as interested in devoting large
blocks of time to discussing health maintenance.
Please email me privately if you have any followup
questions from the post as I may not be checking back.
Blessings in Christ,
Johnelle

Dear Anita,
Thanks for writing me about your FMS. I was
diagnosed in '97, and I did some intensive lifestyle
changes for three years and have virtually no
symptoms now. Everything I did helped some small
percentage, and I learned that if I would just work the
percentages I would slowly improve.
The biggest adjustment for me was in the way of food.
I ate NOTHING processed or that came from a package
for six months -- that means only fresh produce and
fresh meat and seafood -- no rice, bread, pasta, flour,
sugar ... you get the picture. I also drank only bottled
spring water, which is the main thing I drink now
though I can "cheat" more since I've healed myself for
the most part.
There are two underlying complexes behind FMS --
leaky gut syndrome and buildup of calcium phosphates
in the body. You can read about leaky gut syndrome
(LGS) by going to the website of Dr. Walt Stoll. Just do
a search on his name on the net and he's easy to
locate. Then at his website just explore the Archives
and Articles on Various Topics, anything that looks
interesting. He has a lot about FMS, LGS, and the
complications from both. Pay particular attention to
Skilled Relaxation Techniques (SR) as they are key to
healing the leaky gut. You can do a search on my
name and pull up a ton of info, someone told me.
That is where I started. I also had a "coaching
session" with Dr. Stoll which was invaluable. I did
everything he recommended I do, and his predictions,
knowledge and recommendations were all on target. I
have the utmost respect for him while I distrust most
MDs because of their lack of knowledge and disinterest
in FMS. I had been hurt and bled dry by conventional
MDs, and Dr. Stoll is an MD who blends alternative
medicine with conventional medicine. He told me I
needed to have certain tests run to prove to myself that
what he suspected was behind FMS was indeed true.
Every test I was told to get done ended up positive. He
then told me what "tools" to use to get well. When I
followed his instructions I became the most healthy
person I know (not just the healthiest person with FMS,
by the way). You will discover that his health
philosophy will make everyone improve, regardless of
their symptoms. It is commonsense but lost in today's
world.
I came to understand what it means to have an auto-
immune disease and what to do to reverse it. I learned
why our society is becoming the sickest in the world. It
is all an educational process, but if you want to get well
bad enough, you take responsibility for your illness.
There is no magic pill.
As Dr. Stoll told me, "The achievement of good health
will ultimately not be something you TAKE but
something you DO." Very true.
In addition to Dr. Stoll's protocol, I discovered the
Canadian naturopathic physician several months ago.
You can find out as much as I know by emailing
ekoch@rogers.com and asking her to send you
information on the homeopathics they have for people
with fibromyalgia. They have taken Dr. St. Armand's
findings further and refined his treatment.
Incidentally, yes, I am very familiar with Dr. St. Armand.
I did the guai treatment for a few months but was
unable to do it longterm because the guai flushed the
phosphates out mainly through my skin, causing major
breakouts, which I didn't like at all. The Canadian dr.
addresses the phosphate flushing but you don't have to
avoid salicylates topically and you don't have to use
drugs. You simply do some saliva tests, they mix
remedies customized for your areas of weakness in
your body, and you put a few drops under your tongue
each day. The first remedy opens up the kidney
tubules so that you can use the kidneys more
effectively. The second remedy "escorts" the
phosphates out of your body. There are various
inexpensive ways to test your urine to make sure you
are flushing the phosphates out effectively. Over a few
months your body slowly rids itself of the excess and
you gradually improve.
From the first day I started Remedy #1 I have slept like
a baby, which I hadn't done for so many years. I feel
like both Dr. Stoll and the Canadian naturopathic
physician were an answer to prayer.
Keep me posted if you pursue either of the courses that
have helped me so much. I heard about both from
other people on the internet who I had never met but
who I had networked with. The first lady, Nancy, led me
to Dr. Stoll's website. She died a few months ago of
colon cancer and was in her '40's. She and I both
learned from Dr. Stoll that the complications of FMS can
lead to cancer. Very unfortunately, she "dropped her
guard" and paid the price. I have observed in myself
and others with FMS that we tend to change just long
enough to get better and then tend to revert and end up
where we were!
I learned about the Canadian dr. from a lady who read
some of my posts on Dr. Stoll's website, so there is an
interesting connection with Dr. Stoll in all of this. This
lady was great at internet research and came across
the work being doing in homeopathy for FMS through
someone who posted on the FMS bulletin board
maintained by Dr. St. Armand's office which you can
subscribe to free, I believe. I am forever grateful to her
for doing the time-consuming work of filtering through
worthless info and finding the jewels that are
concealed in it.
Step One: Read Dr. Stoll's book!!! It's not a book about
FMS; it's a book about getting well and staying well. It
can be ordered through his website.
Keep me posted on your pursuit of better health, and
thanks for contacting me!
Blessings,
Johnelle

Johnelle,
Nice hearing from a familiar name. Glad to hear you are doing much better. Like you said, I started feeling much better and let down my guard, however, quick thinking by my doc prevented me from paying any price with no new diagnosis.
Take care of yourself

Thanks, Johnelle!
This is one reason why we do not hear many more successes on this website: People get well and move on with their lives.
If they only realzed that their testimonials could encourage so many others.........
Good to hear from you again!

I'm still singing your praises and will be forever grateful
for all the help you gave me when so many other
"professionals" didn't have a clue what was going on
with me. Your approach was most remarkable -- you
empowered me to do it myself, which was necessary
because it's a long and difficult path, but if one doesn't
understand they're alone on the path and it's the path of
survival, they will just look around to what others are
doing and think it's crazy to do such radical things in the
name of good health. After all, NOBODY ELSE SEEMS
TO BE DOING IT!
Blessings to you, Dr. Stoll

Hi,
Dr. Stoll has been a big help for me, too, even though my problem wasn't FMS.
I'm trying to decide how to explain this to my CAM doctor when I see him next.
I guess I will just say that Dr. Stoll and members of his board have been helping me.
Thanks,
Pam
