would giving up smoking (1 month) be enough trauma to the body to trigger the return of fibromyalgia after being mostly symptom free for a long time. I have been feeling so crap when I was expecting to feel so healthy and amazing.
any thoughts please, cheers carolyn

Hi Carolyn,
More info needed. Are you doing something to substitute for the smoking that might be triggering it or any new life habits? Are you faithfully practicing the 3LS every day?
My first thought is it is not quitting smoking, but something else.
Best wishes,
Jan

Many people smoke because it relieves stress for them. Are you doing SR. Also you may be detoxing. ARe you doing any cleansing?

Hi Carolyn,
Congratulations on quitting smoking. That is awesome!! Sorry you have a return of your fibro symptoms, though :(
Could you be experiencing more anxiety or stress since quitting smoking? I've never smoked, but I wonder if the physical withdrawal might be increasing anxiety and promoting a stress response in your body that the nicotine and the act of smoking used to relieve for you. If so, your muscles and connective tissues, digestive tract, etc. could be tensing up unconsciously and causing a return of your old symptoms.
I hope you find something to relieve the symptoms while you work on the underlying cause. Hang in there.
Wishing you the best,
Nutmeg

Congratulations Carolyn,
Dealing with ANY addiction is a big stress to the bodymind! The more you notice the withdrawal the more the addiction was costing you. You have gotten through the worst by now but you will still be dealing with the stress for probably a year. Patience and perseverence!
In the meantime serious wellness will help you get through this.
Let us know how you do.
Walt
