post nasal drip

Posted by myrtle on February 14, 2003 at 05:20:54:

I have had chronic post nasal drip for 11 years. I have had 3 allergy tests and several cat scans done. I have went to at least 12 different doctors 5 of them ENT,s. They give me medication after medication and finally just give up.
They have told me it was stress, nerves, stomach acid, etc.
It gets so bad sometimes I can hardly work. I spend all my breaks in my car coughing and hacking. I have to get it out or I cant work.
I had to have throat surgery because all the coughing caused scar tissue on my vocal chords.
Can anybody out there help me?

I have something similar to this. Not sure if its quite the same. Mine feels more like phlem at the back of my throat also with asthma like condtions. I have also had it for 12 years. And have tried numerous things to correct this.

I sometimes wonder if I have some sort of post nasal drip and that my body adapted to it by closing my airway down some ie to try to safeguard itsself from breathing it in.

anyways ... maybe we can compare notes etc and see what we come up with.

I ahve tried numerous alternative health things and also have tried different alopathic ways.

oh I was going to say; you dont smoke do you? If you do now would be a good time to stop :)

My latest venture; that I am going to be working on is eating healthier with alot more green veggies; see if that helps at all. I'm also going to try to encouperate primal defense see how that does also.

I have visited this site for hmm 5 years about. And have tried NUMEROUS things from it. I have also done tons and tons of research on my own as to what could help this condition I have.

I'm not sure if any of those same suggestions would help you that were suggested for me or others; but they did not help me at all.

I guess I am a bit upset in some ways for that fact; but then again there isnt much alternative. ie you can go out there and pay doctors (alternative or alopathic) for supposed treatments or cures; meanwhile they are just blowing smoke out of their ...

It works so well - my spouse's allergies are SO much better and my ears have cleared up as well.

An aunt avoided sinus surgery with one of these and has been singing their praises ever since.

They're inexpensive, they don't hurt and they work...

I am not affiliated in any way with the company, just really like the product.

Hi, Myrtle.

First of all, are you aware that the average person produces a quart and a half of respiratory secretion every 24 hours that needs to be swallowed?

Stress or allergy can slightly thicken it so it is more noticeable--just like stress can cause a dry mouth.

If you do not have hypersensitivities causing thickening, you need to turn down your FOF hypothalamic activity. The only way known to do that is by 6-12 months of SR.

It is not normal or physiologic to cough up this quart and a half of physiologic secretion. It is meant to be swallowed! See the glossary for any unfamiliar terms. Concentrate on the home page articles and the archives for allergy, sinus, stress & SR.

I agree with your docs as to the cause. Why could they not have told you this and saved you all the years of worry and expense? In my opinion, not doing what they knew in the very beginning is what keeps the money machine running at full tilt!

Let us know what you learn and how you do. This is a TOTALLY unnecessary condition.

Walt

I have that item and have tried it; ie no help. So either I dont have a condition that it helps or it doesnt work.

HOw long did you try it?

It took our aunt about 4 months of using it twice a day before she got relief. She said you would not believe the kind of stuff that started coming out. Now she only uses it once a day as maintenance.

I think if you have sinus troubles, depending on what causes them, you may just be prone to them and find that it's something you need to keep on addressing.

I would encourage you to continue its use. It can't hurt you and it might just be that you have an extremely stubborn bunch of stuff up there that will take time to loosen and get rid of...

It's worth a shot anyway - especially if you already have it.
