Am I reading this right?

He didn't say that exactly. Here's what he said: "he did not rule out that the commission would take a member country to the European Court of Justice if it attempted to set up exclusion zones." What WOULD be punished are attempts by any country to prevent its farmers from growing GM crops by establishing exclusion zones. So, EC wants farmers of all EU countries to have "freedom" to choose GM shit.
On a somewhat related note, aren't there only a handful (thinking of a large hand) of key evil people in the world. Can't they be relocated to another plane of existence for the sake of the mankind?

I'd like to know how they will be able to prove that GM
I am wondering about normal crops being cross polinated
There is going to be a Lot of Lieing about what GM Won't

Vaccines often (if not always) aren't proven safe; yet, everybody takes them. Bribe some and lie to others -- this has worked for a long time.

The only thing about this is, although it looks like we are not going to be able to stop this, at least any product with GM stuff in it is going to have to be labelled. 60% of consumers here in UK have said they will not buy it.
The other thing I'm worried about is cross-pollination. I only buy organic at the moment.

Yeah, well they could R., except they came from there especially to do what they are doing here. font color=purple> We're here to stop them. That is part of why you incarnated, right?

Exactly, Maz.
They say they want everyone to the choice, but by prohibiting a No GM Zone, they will ultimately take the choice away from the organic farmers because of contamination. It's already happening here in the states!

That is an absolute disgrace! I read today, after you have posted, that the EU will NOT allow any farmer to declare their plot GM free. What the hell is going on! Why is the government and the EU allowed to dictate to the general public. Sometimes I just despair of the state of this country (UK). There doesnt seem to be anything more we can do.

How about not buying the GM foods. That would make a statement I'm sure.
If the crops "fail" at the supermarket, then farmers will stop growing them.
That would be the easiest thing to do Once you feel you can do nothing -"they" have won.

I don't vaccinate. I am sure they have heard my statement. LOL

"Agriculture Commissioner Franz Fischler said, "We want to ensure that farmers are able to cultivate the types of agricultural crops they choose be it GM crops, conventional or organic crops."
"Fischler told journalists that once a GM product had been determined to be safe, there was no question of a country banning it on all or part of its territory."
OK I'm missing something here. The AGC first says that he wants farmers to be free to cultivate any kinds of crops they want, and then in the same breath that if GM crops are proven safe, which they haven't, they farmers should grow them and attempts to do otherwise will be punished.

crops are safe. It takes a Long time to prove that
something causes cancer and like Trans Fats, 20 yrs ago
they were the fats to consume as opposed to saturated ones.
Either it will take 20 yrs Or because it takes So long,
they will say there is No proof till a Long time passes, and
problems are linked.
and become GM's. Why wouldn't GM's get crossed and become
normal crops also ? Will Monsanto Sue farmers for Damaging
GM crops and diluting them ?
do till it is TOO late like the war in Iraq. Listen for
it and the Disinformation and double talk. It will confuse
70% of the people and they will believe it because it makes
their heads hurt and they won't want to think about it and
just accept what they are told.
