For those of you interested, Greenpeace has put together a site to help people identify GE foods. You can find it at the link below. You can also sign petitions and send form letters to government officials requiring that all genetically engineered foods be labeled, at: http://www.thecampaign.org
People in Europe have refused to swallow "Frankenfood". We need to take the same kind of stand. At the very least, we should know when we're eating it. Unfortunately, almost 75% of our packaged foods and 100% of cheese products sold in the U.S. already have GE components. If products were labeled as such, sales of these items would surely drop. That's why the industry is gearing up a multi-million dollar campaign to "educate" consumers. Recently, MacDonalds announced that they would not be using certain types of genetically altered foods. That's a great start. You can help keep the momentum going.
Thanks, Penny

Trader Joe's sells cheese that is imported from Europe. I hope it doesn't contains GE components.

Boy, it's really maddening if you go to this food site and see what's going on. These huge companies sell this stuff to the American people but have promised NOT to sell it to Europeans. They claim Americans have no objections. In reality, people just aren't informed. I'd agree that you have a much better chance with imported cheeses. There's a quick letter at the above site that you can sign, encouraging Trader Joes to stop selling other GE products. Part of the battle is to raise media awareness of what's really going on. I posted down below, that the day after the big Taco Shell fiasco was announced, the San Diego Tribune had a huge front page article and photo of a local famous chef eating GE corn. The restaurant was hosting a function for the industry as a part of the campaign to "educate" the consumer about the benefits of GE products. They've got a multi-million dollar budget for this "campaign". Of course they're not talking much about the studies that show that GE corn kills monarch butterflies. Once this stuff is released into our world, there's no going back. Thanks for anything you can do to help spread the word.

Hi d.d.,
I promise I'll email you. I've been home a lot, trying to give myself a chance to regenerate. Every time I think about sitting down and writing to you about the whole gallery business, I get stressed out thinking about it, and tell myself I'll do it later. Please forgive me for my negligence. It's not that I'm not thinking of you, I just get stressed thinking about how to describe the whole process. I'm in serious avoidance mode right now. On the upside, I may be getting a sculpture commission and that raises my spirits dramatically. My energy is very low these days. But I feel that I'm doing everything I humanly can right now to improve my health. I will always be greatful to you for sharing your experience with me about Centerpointe and Holosync. I'll write soon. If you don't hear from me, send me another e-mail. Yours may be buried with the hundreds of ads I get.
Penny
(I really do want to encourage you to pursue your artistic side, don't let anyone DIScourage you!)

Hi Penny,
Thanks for this post AND your email. I completely understand about your stress and the gallery stuff. The sculptural commission is a once in a lifetime opportunity that most of us would kill for, I really hope you do it!
Meantime, take care of yourself, and keep listening to your tapes. Maybe there is some "overwhelm" going on, which is good, it means you're making progress. Also, at the next level, you can start to put in YOUR two cents. I am so glad that my sharing has helped you, that is a great reward.
Thanks for encouraging my art, I really appreciate that. I will tell you more about that in an email, but as of a month or so ago I have started writing, and am working on a book, among other things.
fondly,
d.d.
