I left a message a while ago about my skin condition steatocystoma multiplex and you asked if i had, had a biopsy and if i had a copy of the pathology report. I had a biopsy but i don't have a copy of the pathology report. But the doctor told me that it was rare inherited diease, and the cysts (which are between 2-20mm) are filled with soft oily liquid he also said the cause was the lining of the sebaceous gland. He also said that i would always have them and there was no cure for it.

I have read lots about the sebaceous cysts on this website, and i am taking 400mg of vitamin e and 450mg of blackcurrent oil everyday. I am about seven stone, is that about the right quantity? i am also rigorously towel drying after i shower. If i carry on doing this will the cysts disappear, because they are quite small already. Or like my doctor said is there no cure at all for this.

Hi, Lisa.

Your doc is telling you the truth as far as it goes. If he were totally honest, he would be saying that HE doesn't know of any cure or treatment.

The human genome project has now indicated that genes make up about 20-30% (at the very most) of chronic conditions. The rest depend on what we DO with those genes (life style).

IF the interpretation of the pathology is correct (likely) then this is one thing that would get great results by using the dosage of the essential oils, in the home page article, since the genetic component of this condition makes the sebum too thick and the extra essential oils work by making the sebum a lot runnier.

Because of your genetic propensity, even these doses may not be enough to cure the condition. However, there is little doubt that your condition would be vastly improved and increasing the dose, then, might finish it off. You will have to continue whatever dose works for the rest of your life so, in a way, this is not a cure but a management. You cannot hurt yourself by taking "too much" of the essential oils.

As a matter of fact, if this means that you need a lot more than the rest of us do (likely), your skin is just the place where it is easy to see, The same relative deficiency is going on throughout your body--just in places where you cannot "see" it.

THEN, when you have cleared up, you can go back to your doc and show him how you resolved your "incurable" condition. Who knows? It might open his mind to the advances in health care he has been ignoring.

Let us know how you do.

Namaste`

Walt
