Re: ARTHRITIS/GLUCOSAMINE & CONDROITIN & DOCOTRS

Thanks for your comments. My query about the cure/cause was a mild attempt at humor - although there is little humor in trying to live with a condition like arthritis.
Knowing that glucosamine and condroitin are safe helps - I am ready to untake Part II of your prescription, i.e., to DO something, but am having a problem finding out what to read and then what to DO. Am ordering your book because an Table of Contents is easier than trying to move around the "Net."

I have been on Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulphates with Manganese for over a year. The "side-effects" I have noticed mostly are as follows...
I am no longer on crutches.
I am rideing a bycycle.
I NO longer take any medication such as Nsaids or Gold-shots.
I have fired my Rhuematologist.
I have a positive outlook for the future.
All my highly deteriorated joints are slowly re-building.
I am walking normally, and will not need knee replacement.
YES...There are many side-effects to Glucosamine!

Dear Poirier (and Mike).

Thanks, Mike, for your testimonial. I know of no conventional prescription drug for arthritis that is not many times more dangerous than glucosamine or chondroitin.

To Poirier: the side effects & how to learn about interactions of drugs with glucosamine have been discussed many times on this bb. Go to the archives & read everything you can find on the subject. I think you will find what you need there.

Calcium "Bumps" and Herbs. A question!

Posted by Mike Voss on August 12, 1998 at 20:15:21:

Dr.Walt...Tho I am regaining my health slowly and surely thru nutrition and the Miracle of Glucosamine and Chondroitin, I have No progress so far in the reduction of the huge bumps I have on the outside of each elbow. They are each about the size of a golf ball hemisphere. Were they caused by the years of nsaids and gold shots the MMD's (Medical-Money Doctors) pumped into me? My Rhuematoid count was in excess of 650. These bumps were here long before I started on the Glucosimine et-al. I hear that Hydrangia Root and other Herbs synergystically blended may help the system to dissolve these bumps. If so, what might the down-side (possible side-effects)be from such therapy?

Hi, Mike!

These are going to take years to resolve. Once you are sure that your inflammatory process is gone, you can start counting the years.

I hope you have made contact with Robert McFerran on this website AND that you are doing your skilled relaxation at least twice a day for 20 minutes.

Let us know how you do.

Walt
