Dr. Stoll,
After having a myriad of problems-- I went to the Dr's last night-- and he said that he is 99% sure that I have "Hyperthyroid". My mother had it also, and had the Radioactive Treatments for it a few yrs ago. She then became "Hypothyroid"-- as I'm sure happens with most people. My Thyroid is swollen,I have a VERY fast heartbeat, and my B.P. last night was 150/80-- along with several other symptoms- including swollen feet , last week. My feet were 3 times there normal size-- and when I walked-- I could actually feel the fluid moving around in them. I am going for the blood test ( T4 and TSH-- and I am going to call and ask why T3 is not being tested-- after reading your site for the last 2 hrs.) I also have a slip for getting the Thyroid Uptake Test done-- and will be scheduling it myself today. My Dr. gave me a prescription for "Inderal", which on my bottle says "Propranolol" for "Inderal". I will be taking 40mg.- 3 times a day, starting today. The Dr. said to start taking them right away-- and he said that my condition is very dangerous-- if I do not agree to treatment. I have also inhereted something called "MT HFR C677T" Factor- which increases my risk for blood clots. I will be taking "Foltex" and a baby aspirin, everyday for this. My question is this: Should I agree to treatment with pills-- and then incorporate your protocol, if my condition is serious? After reading your site for the past 2 hrs-- here is my list of things to order: "Saving Yourself From The Disease-Care Crisis"
"Mind as Healer, Mind as Slayer"
"The Stress Reduction Workbook"
are these the correct books? Am I missing anything?
Thank You so much for any info. you can give me!!
I have read all of the "Archives" for this, and I am cery nervous -as to making the right decisions.
Thanks again,
Terressarose

Hi, Terressarose.
Medications can be very helpful until you get this under control by the 3 legs of the wellness stool (SR first). Testing is also helpful to see exactly where you are and to know how much tims you have to get this under control before damage can occur.
You will need to keep close contact with your doc so he can appropriately reduce your medications as you need them less.
You do understand that he is only treating the symptoms with the inderol. He cannot actually give you antithyroid drugs until all testing is done.
Let us know what you learn and how you do. The books you have on order are right. Use the SR book first. The MAH, MAS book is just so you understand WHY this is the best approach for what you have. My book helps pull it together.
