I went to the Doctors in March and he had me run test for Graves. He said I might have cancer or nodule. However, I went to him today and he said the test came back negative and I did not have cancer or any nodules. However, he said we needed to treat the Graves with radiation. I will not take radiation after what I read on this bulletin board only if I had cancer and had to. I received your book and will read and do the SR. However, he would not treat me with medicine. He said I needed to go to another doctor and let him explain why I should have the radiation. I don't think there are many Doctors out here who will agree with me and give me the medicine. The doctor also told me a woman almost died on the medication and that the radiation was a better choice because of the complications of medicine. I will not have my thyroid burned out! It seems so cruel that these Doctors are doing this when perhaps you don't need the radiation. Dr. Stoll, please let me know what I should do about the medicine and do I need to be on the medicine or can I just do the SR? He did put me on a bata blocker. Also, he said sometimes women get a thyroid problem and it goes away in 6 months? How does he know this isn't my problem....Let me know what I should do....thanks for this bulletin board and all the information thats on it...without it, I would have had my thyroid burned out!..
