Dear Doctor Stoll!
I have “Saving Yourself from the Disease Care crisis” book with your autograph.
I would appreciate your advice on the following:
Two years ago after a regular check it was found that I have high TSH (15) and Anti TPO is > 1000.
No physical symptoms of Hypothyroidism are present. Total T3, Free T4 and Dhea-SO4 are normal.
My Physician suggested to follow-up the TSH level without treatment first. TSH changed between 9 to 30 during a period of 12 months while Total T3, Free T4 and Dhea-SO4 are normal.
My physician recommended that I should start taking Eltroxin which I understood will “kill” my thyroid eventually.
Therefore, I tried Homeopathy.
My homeopathic physician, who is an MD as well, tested my thyroid functioning to find 50% functionality. He treated me with Thyroidea D12 and Fucus for two month at first. After the first treatment the TSH was 11 and remained so after approx. another month with no treatment. I was given another two cycles of thyroidea treatments with different strength but TSH did not get below 11. Three weeks after the last cycle TSH was 20. It seems that while taking Thyroidea TSH level is 11 and after treatment stops it goes higher up to 23. I don’t have data on long periods of no homeopathic treatment and I don’t know if it is wise to wait.
My Total T3, Free T4 and Dhea-SO4 did not change and are normal and so is my high level of Anti TPO.
Please advise if there is another option besides taking Eltroxin for life??
Thanks AJL

Thanks, AJL.
The only real solution is to deal with WHY this is happening: Practice serious wellness for at least a year and let us know how you are doing. Your present doc will soon figure out that you no longer need the "support" of the Eltroxin. From your history, here, you will not have any permanent effects from taking the Eltroxin that long. Of course he will likely say that this is a case of "spontaneous remission".

Dear Doctor Stoll!
I think that the fact I am a bit confused by your answer is because I did not explain myself clearly at first, sorry!
Till now I did not take Eltroxin at all.
Since the Homeopathy treatment did not work, so it seems, my homeopathic doc suggested that I have no choice but to start taking Eltroxin for life.
Is your answer about going into wellness still apply (so I think)?? Could you be more specific?
Thanks AJL

I'm not Dr. Stoll but after reading/interacting on this board for 2+years, here is my "take".
You asked Dr. Stoll, "(Does) your answer about going into wellness still apply (so I think)?? Could you be more specific?" My educated guess is, Yes and start reading the archives.

Thanks, AJL.
Once you understand, better, the mechanisms behind hypothyroidism, you will be a lot better able to deal with this.
Wellness is your most reliable solution and taking the replacement support in the meantime is not going to hurt you or interfere with your progress. Within a year you are not going to need it (Certainly not a lifetime solution.)
Hope this helps.
