multinodule goiter

I know I have posted before for other problems and don;t want to overwhelm anybody. I need help. Couple of years ago my cycles just stopped and a multinodule goiter was found. FNA was ok Iodine uptake was ok. SYnthroid was tried and just made me feel worse. My tsh dropped to nothing. The doc wanted to suppress goiter but lowered my levels. After a few more docs I seen was told it is normal to have this when going thru menopause(I am only 44)having no major symtoms HRT was tried and thru meinto symtoms. Several brands were tried.
Was not having problems till recently- goiter feels bigger and been shakey inside and don;t feel right.Sweat alot too now and losing weight. AM SCARED!!
One doc wanted to remove the whole gland but don;t want to do that-heard horror stories on that one.
Recent test shows me normal Ha! Don;t feel normal. TSH is 1.83 alot higher than it use to be
free t3 is 3.5 and free t4 is 1.3 in the normal limits
fsh is 76.6 lh is 46.7 and prolactin is 4.8 postmenopause ranges. progestorone is0.6 dhea is 0.83
I feel very weird and worried and have been to lots of docs and dono;t know where to go from here.
I have a new prescription for hormones and are more natural but scared to take them cause of the previous problems I have had with estrogen and progestorone.
I just don;t know where to go from here and I also had an ultra sound done and showed ovaries were normal and the doc says if my ovaries are shrunk to nothing it is definately menopause but now she says it is cause of my tests. But ovaries ok-confused.
I have tried praying and everything feel no hope and I have checked things on this site for this and can not find any straight answers to my perculiar problem. I just have this bad feeling if I don;t get help I will die.
ANyone have any suggestions PLEASE!

Hi, Denise.

ALL thyroid conditions respond to the same approach to their causes. Which diagnosis the individual finally is saddled with is determined by their genetic susceptibility and not by the cause.

Read, thoroughly, the archives about thyroid and about Grave's. Then let us know what you have learned. If you are not ready to do anything about your causes, surgery is probably your best bet. Listen to your doctor.

It is too bad that this information is not freely available to everyone BEFORE things get this bad. Perhaps you would not have dealt with the causes had your docs told you this stuff when you had your first inkling that your thyroid was not normal. At least you should have been given the choice!

Walt

I have been reading about it-surgery is only recomended when cancer is involved. This is not the case.
Thank you!
