rhinitis?

Dr. Stoll, this spring I began to experiece sharp, electrifying pain shooting from the left forehead (at hair line) to the back of the flat part of the head. The pain would last no more than 20 seconds, but eventually got so bad it was occuring every minute. At one point it shot down through my left eye socket. The ENT thinks it is rhinitis due to allergies. I am due to have allergy testing this week. Any thoughts on what I might try to do other than allergy shots?

Hi, Kristin.

Typical muscle tension headaches (bracing).

Take a look at any anatomy atlas for the muscles and enervation of the scalp and face.

See the bracing archives for your options to get rid of this.

Of course, in the long run, the only thing that will cure it is SR.

Let us know what you learn and how you do.

Walt

did they happen at any time like when your head was still?
I had something similar but it went from the base of my
skull to my forehead but only when I moved my head back. My
neck was stiff so I put heat on it and the head pain that
seemed in my scalp went away.
