Migraine versus Vascular Headaches

Posted by Ben on October 09, 1998 at 15:58:17:

Hi.
Could you please explain the difference between
migraines and vascular headaches?

A friend of mine (a 50-year-old woman) has recently started experiencing bad headaches, some of which lead to nausea.

Thank you.

Hi, Ben.

ALL throbbing headaches are vascular. Migraine is but one kind of vascular headache. A "classical" migraine has one difference from the rest of the vascular headaches. It has an "aura". A migraine aura is some symptom OTHER THAN PAIN that occurs 10 to 30 minutes BEFORE any pain.

Go to the FAQ page for a 10 minute cure for vascular headache pain. If the headache is NOT throbbing, it is not a vascular headache no matter how severe it is.

Look at the archives for headache for the approaches to non-vascualr headaches.

Dr. Stoll's 10 minute cure works. I have had biofeedback to learn to warm my hands but the funny thing is I can't always do it when a migraine is coming on. This you can always do. Sometimes you might need to do it more than once. Look it up and try it. A big thanks to Dr. Stoll who has helped me more than once. Right now I am working on doing the relaxation technique twice a day for both a twitch and bladder problems. You might try it to help headaches too.

Thanks, Lois, for your testimonial.

There are still many people who can't hardly believe that this can be so easy since their trusted docs have had such a hard time with it.

Often, testimonials are the only things they will listen to.

Namaste` Walt
