I am a sufferer of clusterheadache for 12 years, and throughout my researches into this condition have learned that that there is a link between the incidence of this disease and hypothalamic activity, namely that there has been confirmed to be some type of abnormality in this area of the brain in clusterheadache patients.
There are several things I am curious about however with regards this condition, and am wondering if they have any relevance:
1: Cluster-headache syndrome is an excrutiatingly painful condition which is typified by unilateral pain on on side of the head, affecting the eye, face, temple and neck. Its syptoms are typified by an elevation of bloodpressure and bodt temperature, watering of the eye, congestion and heavy mucous discharge.
In my own experience with this condition I have tended to notice that some of the more severe attacks are consistent with changes in barometric pressure,or precede seismic shocks(earthquakes) by at least 72 hours. This may sound odd,yet it is not unusual if you consider that the hypothalamus is an organ which regulates bioelectrical rythms and responds to changes in electromagnetic fields. Because of this fact i have argued constantly that ENF may play a role in influencing and/or triggering cluster attacks in some persons, since there has not been found any hereditary or genetic, or traumatic connection with regards to the conditions possible origins.
Also, the fact that there is heavy mucous discharge from the membranes is strikingly typical of many types of infections, hence, clusters are often mistaken for rhinitis or sinusitis. I have suspected that CH is more than a pain syndrome, but as well a type of chronic infection, or a set of symptoms which mimics a response to infection as the body discharges mucous and waste.
My query is whether or not there is known to be any connection between EMF and the hypothalamus, and if so, what sort of biological responses are consistent with the influence of EMF on the hypothalamic region of the brain?

Interesting post. I'd be curious as to what you find out. I have migraines with the same conditions as you describe. Sensitivity to barometric pressure and sinus drainage. All the other classic migraine symptoms with no relief from standard treatments. (I'm having success with Niacin and Maganesium. Have you tried these?) Your EMF theory sounds plausible to me. good luck in figuring it out.

Hi, Geo.
Cluster headaches can be triggered by anything in the environment (Electromagnetic Smog being a common one.)
SO, the most effective approach in the long run is wellness to change the function of the hypothalamic response toward optimal--THEN it wil not respond the same way and cause the headache.
See the glossary and archives and search engine about electromagnetic smog and energy healing. Try sleeping inside a "faraday cage" described in my book if not in the above.
