Dr stoll,
I have developed a headache of recent onset (3 days). It started as a dull feeling upon awakening and gradually began to stay most of the day. I have a bilateral myringotomy and went in to see my ent 2 days prior to the increased headache. He merely checked inside to make sure the tubes were ok. Lately, the pain feels muscular as when I turn my head to the right, I feel the throbbing fullness behind my left ear and into the left temple. also my scalp has been tender to the touch and there are trigger points in my neck. I saw my rolfer today and he released some extremely tight muscle in the occipital area. It no longer hurts much when I turn my head but when I lie down and put pressure on the rear of my head, it is sore and gives me a little pain. I have tried aleve and aspirin and they do not seem to help. I had a thyroidectomy in november and I am still in the adjusting of medication phase. I don't know if this type of headache could be related. Please advise. iris

Hi, Iris.
Certainly sounds like a muscle tension headache to me. Since all of your other conditions are related to stress, I am wondering how you are doing with your SR?
Massages, Rolfing, Hellerwork, etc. would help relieve what you are going through right now. Alexander Technique or Feldenkrais (see your library) would help prevent this in the future---it is likely to become a fixture of your future unless you deal with the bracing.
Let us know how you do.
Walt
