Every month the day before my period starts I get a whopping headache, so bad that anacin/tylenol doesn't work at all. It lasts as long as my period and then goes away (thank goodness the period's only a couple days)! The headache always wakes me up the night before and throbs badly.
Anyone else out there get these? Just started about a year ago.

I always get menstrual headaches.. they are the only thing that I can't get rid of. The most success I have had is with Excedrin Migraine.. but then i get really irritable... Not sure which is worse *L*
You are NOT alone!

Gin,
I used to get these FAITHFULLY the day before and the first day of my period. The only med that works for me is Excederin and taking it easy.

Janet.
Mensrual flow is caused by hormonally triggered constriction of the blood vessels in the uterus. SO, this kind of headache should be vascular.
See the headache archives and the home page for how to relieve vascular headaches in 10 minutes.
IF this is not a vascular headache it is due to muscle tension and stress and the remedy is very different.
Let us know what you learn and how you do.
