Did your rheummy check your blood work for autoimmune issues? Men have about 20% of the cases.

Ben,
Fibromyalgia is sometimes caused by Lyme Disease.

The bacteria that causes Lyme Disease can invade any part of the body. It has an affinity for nerves, and if it settles in the nerves to the eyes, it can cause all kinds of problems with inflammation, pain, blurred vision.

Your opthamologist might not be knowledgeable about Lyme, and might not realize that you will need a Western Blot test done at Igenex lab in California, or at Medical Diagnostic Lab in New Jersey.

If you ask about Lyme, your doc will order an "ELISA," which will likely show nothing.

If you would like to read more about this, go to LymeNet.org, where there is alot of information available. LymeNet also has a very active discussion group, and they are very helpful to newbies with questions.

I hope this helps you.
Carol

Hi, Ben.

I think it is interesting that people pay more attention to a diagnosis if they have paid good money for it.

What have you learned from the archives about these?

IF your rheumatologist has a solution for what he has "diagnosed" please let us know what it is and how you do with that solution.

In my opinion, we are still not as smart as God and only turning your bodymind loose and letting IT figure out how to make you healthy will work: "serious wellness".

Walt
