At the cost of my own diginity I post this question only because I'm fed up with this problem I'm having.
As a young college student partying far too much, my buddies and I used to have belching contests. The louder and raunchier the better. Unfortunately now for several years (about 4), I have had a problem with what I believe is my tonsil on the right side of my throat. When I do burp now (only out of neccesity and not because I'm a tasteless idiot) after a meal or something, my tonsil (I think) gets irritated and feels as if it's inflaming. It is not painfull at all but I do have the sensation of something touching the inside of my throat and it is quite annoying. I believe it is my tonsil becuase the sensation comes from about midway down my kneck where I believe the tonsils are located.
Any thoughts on why this may be happening and continue to happen years later?

Hi, Craig.
You have probably stretched out your gastro-esophageal valve and now have GERD. Of course most people who get GERD do not have your [disgusting :>)] history.
See the glossary, home page and archives about it and what to do for relief.
Let us know what you learn and how you do.
