gerd: after effects of nissian fundoplication

Posted by Gerd on August 15, 2002 at 11:18:19:

I amtrying to research my gerd.I had the nissian
fundoplication on July 2 2001,it's been a
little over a year,am having acruicating pain
in the middle of my chest and back.have had
3 major attacks in the past 3 months, thinking
maybe I had a heart attack, went to my regular
dr. had ekg,chest exray,nothing showed up.( i
am a 52 year old female) so I went back to my
gastro dr. So the other day had the endoscopy
again. She said there was some inflamation and did
a biospy.my question is what does this mean? I
have searched the net every where, and there is
no real information on the after effects of this
surgery,it's always the question should i have
this done?.I feel pretty bad most of the time
Help! Thank you

Hi, gerd.

The real question is: Knowing what you know now, would you have the procedure done again? It you had known what is in the gerd archives, and the LGS relationships, would you have had the surgery done at all?

Your answer may help save others from what you are going through.

Walt
