Difficulty Breathing + Acid Reflux

A few months ago while I was running to catch a bus I'd missed I felt some very sharp pains in my lower chest.
Ever since I've had difficulty taking deep breaths, taking one randomly every now and then.
I had chest pains for about a week after and my doctor sent me for an X-ray saying it could be a pnuemothorax. This proved inconclusive however.
The breathing problems have continued (now three months later) and I have difficulty yawning now too.
I'm also now getting a lot of reflux (which isn't normally acidic because of some other pills I was given)
This also sometimes has this odd thing where it bubbles inside me and seems to go somewhere else instead of my mouth, leaving me feeling more bloated.

Any ideas?

Sounds like you have costochondritis caused by chronic bracing. Here are some archives on Dr. Stoll's site that you should check out: cosotchondritis, bracing, skilled relaxation, and upper gastrointestional relief. These archives should help you get started.

If I am incorrect about this, Dr. Stoll should respond and tell you what's wrong.

That looks interesting... and a lot nicer than some of the things I've thought up... though the condition is actually painless. It's just a kind of bloated feeling with the gas and regurgitation. I feel like I'm gulping for breath every now and then....

Also, you might want to look at Leaky gut syndrome on this site. Skilled relaxation is essential for healing this because ALL of these condtions are related. I would also, try more live enzyme rich foods to help with digestion.

Hi James,

I have the exact same symptoms and some things that will turn this around are Prevail Vitase digestive enzymes. HCL supplementation for digestion, which is hydrochloric acid which many with these symptoms do have, thinking they have too much acid. Actually, in a large majority it is the opposite. The relaxation that Jon spoke about is another key, the ginger cure that Dr. Stoll spoke about and drinking plenty of water every day and walking will bring your final cure, I believe. Another supplement that has helped everyone I told about with no exception is called, Heartburn Free, which can be purchased at health food stores or online. These are all incredibly safe and easy paths to follow. If you would like to know more about any of what I said, you may email me at ESR3M@aol.com My physician is Dr. Jonathan Wright if you would like to research about him on the Internet. He saved my life with the enzymes and addition of the acid to digest my foods. I wish you much success and please feel free to ask any questions and I will give my humble sincere advice. Dr. Stoll's site is wonderful and so many people here, attempt to help others. Dr. Stoll gives of his time and expertise, how often does one see this in this day and time? Good Luck, James

Hi, James.

Listen to Erin & Jon!

The root cause of your symptoms is severe bracing and resultant intercostal muscle strain. The associated conditions are LGS with incipient GERD and costochondritis. The archives address all of this.

Let us know what you learn and how you do.

Walt

Thank you very much for your advice, the ginger completely stopped the GERD - however I found it easier to take co ncentrated ginger pills (http://www.health-store.co.uk/acatalog/health_store_co_uk_Hofels_72.html).

I've also had a major improvement on my breathing, though
I still get out of breath easier than I used to and the urge to take deep gulping breaths is still there. I'm practising a breathing exercise for SR and hoping that will help.
I can actually yawn now again too (with considerable effort)

Thanks again!

James
