Hiatus Hernia & GERD - Questions about Stopping Prevacid after 4 years

I have a hiatus hernia and GERD. I have been treating it with Previcid for over four years. I have been doing some reading about the effects of long term use of acid supressors like Prevacid and would like to stop taking it and treat my GERD with natural methods. About three months ago, I halved my dosage to 15 mg twice a day from 30 mg twice a day. Two days ago I halved it again to 15mg once a day with the intention of stopping completely in one week.

I know I am in for a rough time (I’m already having noticeably increased heartburn with 15mg just once a day) and am intrigued by your Ginger Juice. It absolutely seems too good to be true. I ordered a juicer today and can’t wait start the ginger juice when I stop my Prevacid completely.

Does this seem like a reasonable course of action? Do you have any suggestions?

speaking from experience I wanted to tell you that is the right thing to do! I was sooooo skeptical of the ginger root juice thing but boy did it work. I took Nexium for about 6 months and then decided to ween myself off it while starting the ginger juice and here I am almost a year later and no need for Nexium.

My dr thinks I have gerd (have had problems w/ burping and lump in the throat feeling for the past 3 wks), he gave me prevacid, but someone just e-mailed me this site! I am going to try the ginger juice (I started this morning and it tastes AWFUL!), and hopefully will be lucky as the rest of you. I hate meds and will try anything natural first to see whether or not it helps.
Can someone please tell me when I should be able to see any results?
