Ginger Root - thanks Dr. Stoll!

I had a terrible time with acid reflux and an ulcer starting in August of 1998.

It is a year later and it's hard to remember how horrible I felt last year at Christmas time...taking ant-acids after every meal...taking two kinds of prescription drugs every day...stacking books under the front legs of my bed to keep my head up...putting away all my favourite skirts or anything with a wasteband.... It was horrible.

The thing that released me from this bondage was GINGER. I read it on Dr. Stoll's page and even though I thought it was a little crazy, I was desperate to find something that would help.

Juicing the ginger was hard but I persevered and tried it. I have never tasted battery acid but ginger root tastes exactly how I would expect battery acid to taste!

But it worked.

I went to see my doctor in the spring of this year and when he asked me how I was handling my acid reflux, I was able to smile and say, "What acid reflux? It's gone!" and I was able to tell him that I had not taken any of his prescription drugs for over three months!

Now if I have been tense for a few days and I feel a little twinge in my stomach, I head for the grocery store and pick up fresh ginger.

I wash it in warm water, peel it and put it back in warm water and then juice it. They look a lot like potatoes but they juice a whole lot faster without their skins. (I don't know if they are like potatoes and have more vitamins with the skins on - perhaps the Doctor could comment on that - but they really juice better with the skins off.)

Another thing that I have been known to do, is make up a bunch at a time and then freeze the juice in small glass containers (like old jam jars). That's because the cure works so well, the juice in the fridge would go bad waiting for the next time I needed it!

Anyway, I just wanted a chance to tell the Doctor that I really appreciated him putting up this site. And I'm looking forward to a wonderful Christmas this year.

Thanks Dr. Stoll!

Thanks, Caitlin.

Your sharing this with us has lightened my day. Sometimes I wonder if I am reaching anyone and your note helps.

Remember, now, that until you have dealt with the LGS that causes GERD, eventually the GRJ will work less and less well.

Glad you will have a better Christmas this year and that you will have a better new year.

Won't it be interesting to see if your doc will learn to recommend GRJ to his other GERD patients?

Namaste`

Walt
