Thank you so much Dr. Stoll and all the contributors with additional information. I posted in Nov.'99 asking questions about GERD. After reading as much as I could and getting your book, I did the Ginger Juice (using a heavy-duty garlic press). I did it twice (the 23 day therapy) and meditated every day, once in the morning upon arising and once again in the afternoon. It was difficult at first but I persisted--and now look forward to it.
Needless to say, I have watched my diet. The last two mornings I was able to have 1/2 cup of coffee, which I must admit tasted wonderful after having ginger root tea every morning for the last two months.
I still have the upper part of my bed raised. And I also find that GUM after meals or when I first feel heartburn really helps me. I am also still taking Tri-Salts (calcium, magnesium, potasium).
This is my update and am thrilled with the results. I believe the meditation has had very positive effects in other areas of my life. I am sticking with the program and will post again when I am entirely GERD-FREE.
Thanks again for helping me stay off very expensive prescription medicine and over the counter arrays of "treating the symptoms only" medication.
