Heartburn and ginger

Dr. Stoll: I have been taking the ginger juice in the morning for over 3 weeks. My heartburn is better but it is not gone by any means. Should I try taking the juice more than once a day? Do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks. Susan

I know I'm not Dr. Stoll but just some ideas: make sure you're doing everything correctly- fresh ginger root ground up in a juicer, teaspoon every morning when you wake up and NO EATING OR DRINKING FOR AT LEAST 1 HOUR (that was hardest for me). Also I noticed that when I increased it to 1 tablespoon it seemed to help even more (did that after about 2 weeks at 1 teaspoon). For me the heartburn did not totally go away but over time I have noticed it was MUCH better and combined with meditation twice daily for a year it is basically 95% better.

Good luck.

Susan,

What have you been doing about your LGS in the meantime?

Jim - thanks for the input. Yes, I have been juicing the ginger in a juicer and have been taking it when I get up and not eating for an hour. It's good to know what others' experience has been. I have found that it helps to take the juice twice or to drink ginger tea during the day. Are you still taking the juice now or did you stop?

I stopped taking the juice-I only did it for 3 weeks. I noted you said you didn't eat for an hour after taking the juice...not sure if you meant eating and drinking, but make sure you don't do either.

As Dr. Stoll said, you have to do something else too or else the heartburn comes back. I made a decision that if the ginger root juice worked, I would meditate twice daily for a long time. It was a big change, but now that I've started it I really can't stop.

As for the ginger, try taking a tablespoon instead of a teaspoon, and waiting longer than an hour before you eat/drink.

Thanks, Jim.

People should not be afraid to use a larger dose of the GRJ since no harm can accrue. The reason that I recommend one teaspoon is that the largest % of people will respond to that dose.

Congratulations!

Dr. Stoll - I just got your book last week and have been reading it. I have started meditating but haven't made it to twice a day yet.
