Hiatal hernai + chiropractic manipulation

I've read much of the info on your site which has been helpful. I've read that the ginger regimen can help with GERD symptons; however, with chiropratic manipulation has there been success in reversing the actual physical structure of the hernia or are we stuck with this thing for life? I've started a meditation practice, eat very healthily (just started an anti-candida diet as a test) and exercise regularly. How would I find a good chiropracter who is well versed in this technique? I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. Thanks in advance, Dan

Hi, Dan

I've been taking crystalized ginger as well as ginger juice and it's helping with the GERD. Unfortunately, I've got a hiatal hernia as well. For years it hasn't hurt or caused me much problems until recently.

Doc Kim advised me to find a chiropractor specialized in kinesiology and advised of a local chiropractor. I didn't heed his advise for a while and then my hiatal hernia started to hurt! He advised me of what to do to stop the pain and I learned of another local chiropractor specialzing in kinesiology. This chiropractor was able to help me with my hiatal hernia where it's hardly noticable and does not cause me any problems after one treatment.

I typed in Doc Kim in order to bring his attention to this post.

How did you become aware that you had a hiatal hernia (barium swallow and xray or endoscopy)? Also, where did your hernia hurt? I've had a "pulling down" feeling just below my solar plexus - I haven't been officially diagnosed so I'm wondering what it might feel like. Thanks for your help. PS Who is Dr. Kim?

Hi, Dan

Known for years about having a hernia, however, didn't know I had hiatal hernia until Upper Endoscopy October of 1999.

My hernia started hurting around the sternum and upper chest area.

Doc Kim is a chiropractor who is a BB participant as well. You can click onto glossary/index at top of this post, then D for doctor and get more information on him as well.

Hope this helps

Hi Dan,

I have been amazed, over the years, at how extremely effective the hiatal hernia protocol has been for my patients. It can be very dramatic in how effective and quick it can be. I suggest you find someone in your area to try this before you try anything else.

Thanks for your response. I've heard that the treatment is painful. What's involved? And, where does one begin to look such that I can find someone who I can trust? I'm a healthy skeptic!! Thanks in advance!!

Hi Dan,

Skepticism is good as long as it doesn't keep you from the truth. The procedure may be a little uncomfortable, but, I would not classify it as overly painfull. It seems that, the more you need the procedure, the more uncomfortable it is.

You need to find a chiropractor who practices some form of Applied Kinesiology. Some of the acronyms to look for are AK, TBM, CK, and NOT. These are short for different techniques that are based in AK.

The procedure is acutally pretty simple, but needs to be done by someone who is trained to do it. If you let me know where you are located, maybe I can find a few in your area when I get back in my office on monday.

Hi, Dan

As I mentioned, I went through the procedure once so far. Surprised me that it was Not Painful, just a bit uncomfortable! I was too busy taking a deep breath in and then exhailing to realize any kind of pain!

Since then, each morning I've drank a good amount of water and done kind jumping on back of my heels exercises 12 times. It seems to have pulled the hernia down even further and I've had No problems since one adjustment.

OK, I'll bite, what are TBM and CK?

In my rocket scientist world, TBM would be Tactical Ballistic Missile (the "Oh Shucks!" kind that the former Soviet Union has sooooo many of). Somehow I doubt the AK folks are using those yet to solve individual problems!?!?

Thanks!

I'm sure one of those would "solve" my problem!

Hi Dan,

I don't know anyone personally in your area, but, I checked the directory and there are quite a few listed who do AK. There is a Dr. Victoria Moore who also does N.O.T. (my technique) her number is 415-921-2325

Good Luck,

Doc Kim
