Acid reflux thanks

Posted by Howard on January 07, 1999 at 21:13:23:

Thanks to the two folks who took the time to e-amil me and
recommend the ginger root juice. I certaintly appreciate your concern.
I am about to embark on this treatment and would like to ask a further queation.
Are there any risks in taking the ginger root juice at all?
I guessed there probably was not but with the irritated throat I was just concerned.
Thank you all
Sincerely
Howard

My sister had severe heartburn caused by LGS and crohn's . She has no large intestine and lived on antacids. It was very painful. She did wonderfully well with the ginger juice. I guess my point is that it did not hurt her and she has serious absorption problems and many other issues. Good luck.

Vicki,
Sorry to here about your sisters problem but delighted to know she was helped by this method. Thank you for your time and input, I was concerned because the Ginger juice is so "hot" and thought this could make a sore area worse. I am going to embark on what I wa told which is one teaspoon each morning 15 minutes before eating.
Thank you
Sincerely
Howard

I finally got Dr. Stoll book here in Brasil. I am very
interested in the ginger root formula for acid reflux.
However I don't know what a "shredding type of juicer" is.
Can someone explain to me. Is there a picture anywhere
on the Internet?

Thanks,

Carlos A Ruggiero

Carlos, you need a juicer to extract the juice from the ginger root. It's an electric machine that allows you to put pieces of peeled ginger in and then it extracts the juice from the pulp. Many people do not own these as they are rather pricey, I used one that my friend had. You need to use very fresh root (plump with no wrinkles in the skin) as it has the most juice and is easier to get the skin off. The skin is rather bark-like and tough so I used a good potato peeler. The juicer looks a lot like a food processor. There is an opening at the top to put the root in, a plastic piece to force it down with, the body of the machine and a container at the bottom to catch the juice. Hope that helps. Try just looking up juicer on the net.

Dear Carlos,

The "shredding type" sort of tears the stuff apart to get at the juice. Mine is a "Champion Juicer" but there are others. The main thing seem to be that it not slice stuff like a blender.
