Dear Dr Stoll,
I was reading some stuff in regards to Hiatus Hernia. Last week I had gone to the Emergency I thought I was having a heart attack at the age of 39 well I have had a Hiatus Hernia for awhile but never flared up like last week they gave me Prevacid. The question I like to ask you can I take the Ginger Root Juice and the Prevacid together and also because I had severe pain in my chest the other day when I went to the Emergency is it normal for my chest to hurt they gave me a EKG and my heart was normal? I hope you respond to my E-mail Thank You very much!

No problem with taking the GRJ with the Prevacid. However, both of these are just ways to get rid of your symptoms and do nothing about dealing with WHY you have it.
Although SOMETIMES HH can cause "chest pain" most often it is associated with costochondritis. BOTH HH & CC are caused by total body bracing which has been discussed on this BB for many years.
You need to become a student of SR (many testimonials of the effectiveness of SR on this BB) and practice it at least twice a day for 20 minutes. In the meantime both Chiropractic and Rolfing would be vastly beneficial in the short term ( a year or so).
