Dr. Stoll:
I stumbled across your board while searching for information about treatment for GERD. I am a 33 year old male who developed a duodenal ulcer 13 months ago. After a treatment of protonix, the ulcer completely healed. However, I have been suffering with severe and persistant GERD ever since. An endoscopy revealed nothing and I have been on nexium for two months after a flare up of symptoms. Right now, I have not been symptom-free for over three months. I have switched to pepcid since I did not tolerate nexium well. Am I missing something? Also, if I begin the ginger juice treatment will it interact with the 20 miligrams of pepcid I am taking?
Thank you, Ron.

My husband is dealing with GERD also and he is taking papaya enzyme tablets after each meal. He is completely off the medication the doctor had him on and has slowly decreased the amount of papaya enzymes he takes.

Hi, Ron.
GRJ is compatible with EVERYTHING.
Remember, GRJ is not the cure either even though it commonly will get rid of all the symptoms. Dealing with LGS (the cause of GERD) is the only permanent cure I know of.
Let us know how you do.

what does papaya extract do? I take aciphex and it works pretty well, but I still have some bouts with it. How do you mix the Ginger root stuff? I read about a shredding blender. I have a big blender with "Shred" as one of the buttons. Does that qualify? I also have spasms and some swallowing difficulty. I might try the papaya extract if it was explained to me.

Dr. Stoll:
Thank you for this website and your information about GRJ. I am on day four of the GRJ and it is already working well. I feel as though my GERD symptoms have lessened by 70%, which is to say that the symptoms are no longer impeding my daily activities. What is amazing is that on day four, I had a small recurrence after dinner and injested a second teaspoon of GRJ which completely took care of the symptoms. I continue to take 20 milligrams of Pepcid, but if I continue to improve, I will move on to only antacids, then, hopefully, to only GRJ. I WOULD RECOMMEND GRJ TO ANYONE SUFFERING WITH GERD. This is the best I have felt in 13 months. Thanks so much.
