Dear Dr. Stoll,
I had suffered with chronic hives for 18 months. I have now been hive free going on 5 months thanks to your website. I owe it to you to tell you my story and anyone else out there that has had chronic hives with "no cure".
I had breast reconstruction which also included implants, and was given a 10 day cycle of cipro. The surgery went fine, and I finished up the cipro as instructed (I had never taken cipro before). About a month later, I got a terrible sinus infection, and my regular doctor prescribed me zithromax. 3 days later I woke up covered in hives. The doctors were convinced that it was from the implants and wanted me to go thru another surgery to have them removed. I knew that wasn't the problem and didn't want another surgery so soon after. After many doctor visits, many lab tests, 6 months of prednisone and thousands of dollars spent, I found your website. I read your book, read your archives on hives, and read the Yeast Connection which confirmed that I had candidiasis. I have been off sugar and refined foods since, and I rarely have a breakout. I take culturelle, and kandidaplex which has biotin, grapefruit seed extract, pau d'arco extract, and undecylenic acid which helps me keep this under control. I do use small amounts of splenda sometimes and a little cream in my coffee. Otherwise no milk, sugar or flour. I take diflucan or nizoral every now and then, and I found a dermatologist that listens to me and read my yeast book. I know now that no condition is uncurable, thanks to you.
Thanks for reading my story,
Holly
