I am so frustrated. Four months ago I had a severe allergic reaction which involved swelling of the face and swollen red and extremely itchy lumps over my entire body. I visited an allergi specialist who told me I had urticaria (hives), they carried out a few skin prick tests to which the only thing I tested postive to was grass. Since then I have experience random episodes of swelling and itchiness to which I can attribute no specific cause. Some mornings I can wake was swollen lips or red itchy lumps on my arms and legs. I have never had swelling inside the throat and generally don't feel unwell in any other way. This is both depressing and frustrating as I feel I have no control and my doctor never offered any advice or further information about why this has suddenly occured - I am 25. Is my condition likely to be indicative of something I should be worried about and what can I do???

Suggest you check out the Hives Q/A Archive (lined below). Use the Glossary for any unfamiliar terms and also links to related subjects.
Hope this helps!

Jessie,
Classical allergy testing, as you have described here, will only find 5% of the things you are hypersensitive to. To even find what is triggering this, you will need a Clinical Ecologist who can find the rest. Go to the email site at aaem@bellatlantic.net for the closest C. E. to you. Have copies of ALL of your records in hand when you go there.
Next, the only thing that causes why you are experiencing what you have reported (the tip of the iceberg) is LGS and the chronic stress-effect that causes the LGS.
See the archives about Hives.
